kepz_01: just want to find out what you guys think...
I think we should have gone all the way to Baghdad and taken out Saddam and Son's back in 1991, when we had a very good reason to do so!
Come 2003, I don't think we had any moral justification for invading Iraq anymore... Saddam and Son's were the Iraqi people's problem, not the United States' problem!
I doubt history is going to look favorably on the near unilateral invasion of Iraq and overthrow of it's government as a result. There were no WMD's in Iraq, the primary justification given by the Bush Jr. administration for the war there. Even former Secretary of State Colin Powell said in an interview, after he'd resigned his position, that he was very upset that the Bush Jr. administration had sent him to the U.N. to make the case for invading Iraq with completely false information! That speaks volumes IMHO!
OTOH, there can be no doubt that Saddam and Son's deserved exactly what they got! However, I don't believe it was OUR responsibility to give it to them... there'in lies the problem. And in the meantime the legitimate war in Afghanistan was left almost totally unsupported and has near about been lost... and we WERE justified in going in there after 9/11!
Osama Bin Ladin who masterminded the 9/11 attacks on us (among other terrorist attacks his organization has been behind around the world) has not been found captured or killed, but we sure nough got Saddam Hussain who almost exlusively terrorized his own people... how stupid can we be?
woody636: I don't care if they found any WMD's or not; the world is a LOT better place WITHOUT Saddam. ... I think we were completely justified to go in to Iraq.
You claim that the world is a better place without Sadam.
Does that also go for the 1 million Iraqi children who died as a result of Desert Storm and the following embargo of food, medicine, water purification equipment, etc etc.?
And does that also include the other 1 million Iraqi civilians who have died as a result of the bombardment, invasion and continuing occupation of Iraq by the US, including the tens of thousands of deaths associated with depleted uranium munitions?
It is just too easy to justify genocide on the basis of one puppet ruler who was put into place and armed, and directed by the US to start with.
Blaming Sadam is not going to erase one bit of America's guilt for the devastation of Iraq.
Just like individuals, countries eventually reap what they sow.
ukrainegary48: it always amazes me to here American troops say. i wonder why there shooting at us. i got a clue for you. you invade there country.
Ever talk to a soldier that's been over there? I've talked to several, they get given flowers, invited to dinner, etc. They also say that about 90% of what is reported in the news is wrong, about all they get right is the body count.

Where in the world do you get your information? You watching CNN again?
woody636: War "ON IRAQ?? Maybe "In Iraq" not on. I don't care if they found any WMD's or not; the world is a LOT better place WITHOUT Saddam. As far as justification, look at ALL the ultimatums the U.N. (worthless tripe!) gave Saddam. I think we were completely justified to go in to Iraq. As far as staying and where we are now, that's a different matter altogether and not as easily decided as the paper's want us to think. Time will tell.
If you could justify killing of thousands Innocents and devastating a nation just beacuase you want to eleminate Saddam, Well Taliban and Alqida and your country is in the same league .

O.K. Ray, we know we're at fault for all the world's ills-propaganda statistics included.
Sammy39: yeahh we are such bullies....seeing as what they did to us on september 11th.
sawadee ka Sammy39,sept 11th,is that all u have to say??it is obvious to me u know nothing,Sept 11th is just a small drop in the ocean in comparison to what america has been doing to the world over the years...yes,i condem sept 11th,but it was only excuse for GWB & his Cheneys & rumsfelds to invade Iraq without valid justification...american ppl i not have my problem with but its politics & ppl in charge of USA gov will never change!the world & the american ppl are all puppets of the USA gov.sad but true...

we should take into cosideration that this poll was only intended for the war in iraq, 9/11 is just and only part of the discussion, wether they they are co-related, it is for you to decide, we should also ask ourselves, " were saddam and bin ladden co- conspirators to 9/11(did i say that right? if not someone please correct me.. ) or was is it just bin ladden?
because the way i see it, 9/11 was a gross oversight by homelands, fbi and the cia. they had info.. of a possible threat but never acted out to prevent such catastrophy...bullies..there is no bully in such case... it's all, eye for an eye...
the ones who are left in the wake of these mistakes, are the innocent women, and children....
now we ask..is this part of the arms race or the materialisation of the cold war?
Grandepensees you stated; And if it was really about oil, how come gasoline is so high in the U.S ? ( beside those pig's profits ) If you owned all the oil in the world, would you give it away? Or would you charge top dollar? Now you know why oil is so expensive, and why the invasion of Iraq was for the oil and control of the region.
In the 2000 PNAC report, this was predestined to happen. Any American naive enough to think we will get out of IRAQ is naive and foolish.
Osama Bin Laden was the key to 9/11 NOT Hussain.
We should have told Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and any other country that if they dont' help us find Bin Laden, they are next. Instead we set up a permanent base in Iraq to make more corporations rich in the U.S.
We should get out of their and fast.
And save the weapons of mass destruction crap. North Korea is setting off testing already and we do nothing. North Korea doesnt' have any oil though.

we do nothing because Obama is a coward and will do nothing, he is a traitor aswell turning his back on our unconditional ally Isreal threatening to shoot their planes down if they try to attack Iran who also has weapons of mass destruction
