lion131: .........or maybe just some old rusty cans?
I used to have one as a teenager and spent many a happy hour digging up rust.
Once found a whole load of musket bullets from the Napoleonic era in the UK, which although not valuable got the local historical society interested. They found out the area where I found them was an old firing range, and once known you could see the banked areas and where the soldiers stood
Have found many old coins but none of real high value, maybe £100 at most.
Now living in Italy, I have been considering getting another detector in the hope of finding some Roman gold.
Dec 13, 2009 11:15 PM CST have you ever found anything valuable with a metal detector?

it was donated to a war museum in France, same as in 2004 a French farmer ploughing his field uncovered a British WW1 Tank not the sort of thing you expect to find farming
