RE: "SOME THINGS THAT ARE OLD"..("MICLEE"S 21st CENTURY")

We have also white and black family movies without sound on tape, which my brother recently has transformed into digital format...we had no washing machines - the first one I bought when I had almost had 3 children - before it, I washed clothes with hands till bloody blisters ( we had no pampers or something the same!!!! that was awful - I understood it when my youngest was born!)...I am so old that I began working at computers the size of a wardrobe, and only some time later personal computers appeared ( my son once asked me: what computer did you have in your childhood)...I am so old that I bought my first cell phone when my youngest was 1 year old ( 14 years ago)...

RE: "SOME THINGS THAT ARE OLD"..("MICLEE"S 21st CENTURY")

...I am so old that I remember time when I could go to Metro for 5 pennies and get from one side of the 40 km in diameter city to another throughout the day ( now it costs 27 rubles, I could buy fruit ice cream for 7 pennies, we had no tights and go to school in stockings ( once my cat chewed elastic tie with which I fastened my stockings - it was a tragedy as I was late to school)...the winters during my childhood were colder than they are now, and we had skiing classes throughout the whole winter, skating rinks were made in every school sports ground ( my younger children didn't skate at all)...I was happy to get a doll with long hair which I could comb when I was in the 3d grade (they were from Germany and were very expensive)...

RE: "SOME THINGS THAT ARE OLD"..("MICLEE"S 21st CENTURY")

...we were young and there were many good things...we had lack of many things that people in the west had, but people didn't think of their own nationality - we were friends and liked each other...people mixed inside the country going to study to Institutes to big cities, getting married and staying here, but communicating with their relatives throughout the country...now relatives are separated with boundaries and often impossibility to get to each other because of the ambitions of our governors... I know such families - my neighbours in Moscow ( it was a very sad experience during my last visit there this summer)...

RE: "SOME THINGS THAT ARE OLD"..("MICLEE"S 21st CENTURY")

...having graduated the Institute we had to go to work for 3 years where they told us - usually far away from Moscow...Chrushev's grandchildren were in the same class with my brother...Much time later I remember the White house in Moscow burning and panzers passing our country house on their way to Moscow...

RE: "SOME THINGS THAT ARE OLD"..("MICLEE"S 21st CENTURY")

Sorry - it takes me time to write...and I have very different experience...My elder brother listened to Beatles though their tapes were forbidden in the USSR, but we got them from spivs, they also provided us with jeans...

RE: "SOME THINGS THAT ARE OLD"..("MICLEE"S 21st CENTURY")

I am so old that I remember Roma camp with tents and fires in the evening in front of our 10-storey house in Moscow. I am so old that I was a pioneer at school...There were few cars in Moscow, and there was no traffic...there were not so many Metro stations...food stuff was cheap and we go to the Caucasus to the Black Sea for vacation every year...we could travel to the Far East and Siberia, where my grandmother lived (we can afford it)...people everywhere we traveled were friendly...I am so old that remember a TV set with emplifier at our neighbours...I am so old that remember when our people should be checked by communists if they were worthy travelling abroad...

RE: "SOME THINGS THAT ARE OLD"..("MICLEE"S 21st CENTURY")

Sorry, am I late with my memories how old I am?

RE: Worst thing about blogs...

It's a pity as some ideas are worth being discussed more detailed...I like people here and appreciate their point of view...

RE: Worst thing about blogs...

I agree with Postneoludin: I read blogs regularly, but sometimes I have no time to write my opinion or some ideas are formulated later ( I need some time "to chew and digest"), and when I am ready...everybody is gone or the blog is hidden...Also I like to read old blogs of the bloggers whose ideas seem interesting to me ( I've come here recently). blues

RE: "OUR SAD AND NAMELESS FRIEND"

Maybe, Sadness...Every time I look at the moon sadness floats from the deep of my heart...

RE: The Gift of Hindsight

Good thoughts! It's a pity that only crash of our love makes us so wise ( but not everybody)...But there is a good moment: life hasn't still ended, and you can open a new page with this wisdom...You only should remember Mimi's and Theresa's warnings that this works both sides. Good luck to you on the road to the happiness - you worth it...

RE: I Have A Question

If it was so he couldn't have become the President of the USA. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.

RE: Favourite song (with a twist)

As for me I like a beautiful melody in the song ( so that you can sing it - not cry). The sense of the words of the song is important for me too, but if I don't know the language of the song I prefer to listen to "melody" of the unknown words and believe to feelings that the singer expresses. It seems to me that Italian and French ( I don't talk about English as I understand it and my native language) are the most musical languages. So I like to listen to Adriano Celentano,Lara Fabian, Miray Mathieu,Joe Dassin and Gregory Lemarchal.

RE: Where did I wrong?

I agree with Wallops in all aspects. Your intentions and expectations are clear: everybody in this world wants true love. But do you know your friend "really"? Are you able to accept him as he is? It seems to me you are not ready to this. If he is not ready to compromise and you can't accept it (love is a well, which is filled up with both sides), later it will lead you to different ways...If you love you forgive the partner...but till the time when your Love dies...

RE: "SIGNS OF THE ZODIAC".............................

I am Virgo toowave , and I am studying again (according to Virgo's love to studies), but punctuality is not my forte as I have some planets in the Aquarius. So, I am torn between Virgo's reality and seeking something in the sky Aquarius...blues

RE: "SIGNS OF THE ZODIAC".............................

I've studied astrology for some time - this is an ancient science...It's a pity that popular media undermined its authority publishing only part of information ( we read only about qualities that the Sun gives us - it is determined by the date of birth). But there are other planets which influence us and which can be in different places of your horoscope ( their placement vary even if you have a minute difference in time of your birth with someone else - so , your characters will be different - besides, your place of birth)...it is very complicated...but it works.
I got interested in it when I tried to find the answer to my question, why 3 of my children were so different, in spite of the fact that they had the same father and mother and I was bringing them up the same... Astrology helped me to understand and explain some things...
