I have used the term 'good neighbourliness' here not only to mean a friendly and cordial relationship and disposition between neighbouring countries but between all humans because at the end of the day, that is what we all are!
I very well know my geography and know that Syria and Iraq are no where near Hungary, Germany or Austria.
As a Journalist, her duty was to report the story, not be a part of the story. Her actions clearly shows that she was part of the story and that is breaking the code of conduct of her profession, if indeed she is a Journalist.
As you may have noticed, I have not delved into the whole refugee situation because I know there are lots of people that are abusing the situation.
Besides Geography, I am also a good student of History and will like to remind you that the USA is not a neighbour to Germany (I believe you're German), yet they helped to stop Russians from invading Germany and still have military bases there till this day. Food for thought.
My intention wasn't to disrespect her or anything of that sort, it was sent with no intent to hurt. I sure did my fair bit of explaining but then she didn't quite buy into it.
Many thanks as always Piececake for your objective take. Good to know that, even as a lady, you don't have any qualms with the magician's act. A female friend of mine was enraged when I sent her the video, she and I aren't in very good terms, thanks in part to the video. She said I kinda looked down on her the moment I sent her the link, that it wasn't her cup of tea.
By the way, I have never considered moving to the US, except for vacation. In the light of recent events and racial profiling of people of colour, I am giving up that idea. Not worth it!
