Funny you should ask; younger men are asking me out, up until now I have not dated anyone more than 6 years younger than I am. I do have a date with a man 37 Sat night, I am 53. I wasn't sure about it but my daughter said go and have fun, after I think about it I am more open about it now. I will see if we have anything in common to build upon. So far I think it depends on the two people some are young for their age and some are more muture for their age. I will see how it goes.
My husband was 12 yrs older than I and we made it work for 34 yrs. Looking back on things now I wonder how he put up with me because I was just a little girl when we married and it was almost like he had to raise me. LOL One thing I know for sure at this point in my life is I am not interested in a man that much older than me now.
DW none of us are perfect and we all are broken in a way. Don't beat yourself up because there are plenty of others out there that will do that for you, sounds as if you left someone that did a good job of it.
ED I like your pastor sermon for valentines I think we all have love for someone and they for us and I have always used valentines as another way to show them I care. So I agree lets celebrat our love for all, there is no reason for anyone to be left out unless they chose to be.
