Yes first time can take quite long time. The Ultra program also offers a quick optimization and full optimization functions. quick means not as long as full takes, both take quite a while, I think best to use Quick first.
Before you head outside for an hour or so, with computer offline you might run the quick optimization. What it does is move all your programs to the end of the hard drive, then back again to the front of the drive, with the most used programs first on the drive so computers response time is optimized...
