Drinking in moderation is fine, as long as it doesn't rule your life.
Obviously, there are many health issues/concerns that go along with over-indulgence of alcohol.
Coming from a family that includes several alcoholics...drinking can be a major problem if you let it control your life...I've seen it with my own two eyes.
I also do not buy into the whole 'Alcoholism is a disease' bit. People CHOOSE to drink. Most people do not CHOOSE to contract a disease...there's a huge difference there. A person can quit drinking, but you can't just quit having a disease. It's an addiction, not a disease.
Since I happen to take care of my uncle, who is paralyzed & can't do anything for himself due to being in an accident involving alcohol...drinking & driving is never okay, in my opinion. In fact, one of my very best friends was killed in a car accident, because of alcohol.
If you read between the lines, I think you'll see some very valid reasons not to drink...or at least, if you are going to drink, do it responsibly.
Are you sure her name wasn't 'slickness'??? To me, that's an awful lot of $$$ to be giving away to someone you've just met! Obviously, you are now thinking so, too...otherwise you wouldn't be asking and putting out all of those $numbers$ But then again, of course, I'm sure she wasn't putting a gun to your head...
I was in a relationship where there was an attempt to control me/my actions, behavior, etc. He was not successful. I do not & will not allow any man to control me. I control me, period.
I say to each his/her own. Personally, I agree with you all the way. However, I care not about the people judging. People will always try to judge others for some reason or another. As long as I'm happy with what I do to my own body, that's all that matters to me. And mine are in good taste so if someone doesn't like it, then as far as I'm concerned, don't look & mind your own business. My body, my choice.
