When someone does a kindness It always seems to me That's the way God up in heaven Would like us all to be... For when we bring some pleasure To another human heart, We have followed in His footsteps And we've had a little part In serving Him who loves us- For I am very sure it's true That in serving those around us We serve and please Him, too.
I have to go & see my allergist tomorrow so I can get a shot for the asthma. I'd like your prayers that the shot will help the asthma. Thanks & God Bless!
Each day let's do a golden deed, Some kindness show to one in need; Let's try to lend a helping hand, A listening ear to understand. Let's try to spread some sunshine where We see a brother bent with care. With loving thought and friendly smile Let's strive to make each day worthwhile. Let's try to cheer some lonely heart With hope and gladness we impart. Just little things can mean so much- A card, a call to keep in touch. May every kindness that we do Reflect our Lord's love shining through. If you and I will live this creed, Each day to do a golden deed, We can change sunny skies from gray, Make flowers bloom along the way. Let's try...let's pray so we might say: "This be our creed" each passing day.
There is a place deep down in my heart, Which has sheltered me many a year, A stronghold of Faith that defiles all the worst That we're bound to come up against here. There is a place in my heart full of Hope, Like a spring in the desert of living, And its waters are cool and they nourish my soul, With the joy of unselfish giving.
There is a place in my heart full of Love, That warms through the coldest night, Sustaining me always, in spite of my fears, As I walk toward the tunnel of light. For I am a child of the Lord, and I know from the start of the day 'til its close, That Faith, Hope, and Love are dear to His heart, ...And He's given me plenty of those.
I do not know how long I'll live But while I live, Lord, let me give Some comfort to someone in need By smile or nod-kind word or deed And let me do what e'er I can To ease things gor my fellow man. I want naught but to do my part To "lift" a tired or weary heart, To change folks frowns to smiles again- Then I will not have lived in vain And I'll not care how long I'll live If I can give- and give- and give.
Measure your lifetime in blessings, Not in the years you have known... Count up the number of people you've touched, Add up the love you've shown.
Measure your days in the gladness That you and your loved ones have shared... Tally the smiles on the faces of friends, Total the times you have cared...
Yes, measure your lifetime in blessings, And you'll always remain in your prime- For youth is a feeling you keep in your heart Whether seven or seventy-nine.
Dream not the sunny hours away, Be up and doing ever, For life is short and after life, There comes the vast Forever. And single not great work to do, A word that's kindly spoken, A smile, a glance may help to heal The heart that's nearly broken.
If happiness should dwell with you Or sorrow be your guest, It matters not, put self aside And bravely do your best. The sunshine shed on other lives Will surely glid your own, And harvest time will bring to you The seed which you have sown.
Then haste to do the Master's work. The cup of water giving, And soon with thankful heart you'll find That life is worth the living. Dream not the sunny hours away, Be up and doing ever For life is short and after life There comes the vast Forever.
