well, my own way of lookin at it is, if someone doesnt have a pic up, then i usually dont reply to their mail if they mail me.. cause when i do ask for a pic they get all defensive and ask why i need to see one.
for a start i have pics up, so its only fair i think for the other person to have them as well..
secondly, looks are important.. as much as personalitys must click, there has to be a physical atraction also.. i mean, u dont go out to a bar with a paper bag over your head, so why hide on here?
but then again.. i understand some people may feel weird about puttin their pic on the net, that is their own perogatie..:)
if socialising is cuttin across peoples discussions then our right.. otherwise it's just plain rude.
if you were in a pub havin fun wit your mates.. and a group of people sat at your table and interupted your night with a serious discussion on politics that would be rude not socialising. the same goes for here.. please..socialise all you want but not on the threads where people are having a discussion about something totally unrelated.. u have emails, chat rooms, even seperate threads that you can open to chat with your friends.. why do you feel the need to post random chit chat on every single thread going.. and dont say to socialise.. cause that aint socialisng
who decided that?? you?? your friends?? im not saying everything has to be serious.. but there has to be room for both and not interuppting every single thread.. i dont get involved in threads where people are happy having a laugh if i want to discuss something "serious" but lots of people feel the need to interupt every thread. and i dont know why.. im NOT sayin u cant have friends and socialise.. just understand that sometimes other people are enttled to have a serious discussion if they want
no nitak.. your completly missing the purpose of the forums.. no one want to stop you from socialising.. the idea of the site is for that.. but the forums are expected to be a place for discussions to be held.. check the international forums here ull see how they are worked.. of course its ok to deviate off the subject a little bit, but not to turn it into how are you.. i am fine.. any news? no.. alls quiet?? someone whois interested in the subject matter fo the thread will see that and come in and leave bcause they think no one is actually discussin the topic that was put up to talk about.. not only that, but certain people seem to be having the same conversation in almost every thread therefore hijacking and ruining a discussion and debate forum where people who want to openly discuss a specific subject are..
no one is sayin dont make friends, or socialise, or flirt or hatever.. but asking someone how they are or if they have any gossip is not going a little off the subject its completly changin the subject.. if u wanna have a gossip wit someone thats fine, but open a seperate thread for it, or email them.. why people feel it necessary to ask one person how they are in AN OPEN FORUM is silly.. email them if u wanna have a bit of a goss...

yes its a networkin site, but if u wanna chit chat that fine, u have loads of place to do it.. chat rooms.. IM.. flower.. email... in any site iv been on before, ud be booted for hijackin a thread.. as it should be.. there are maybe 10 or 12 people who jump every singel thread here to have a conversation among themselves..
oh petal... u have captured my heart.. a kindred spirit.. someone who actually likes to have a decent proper converstion once in a while and not have it interupted with "i'm bored comments" thank u..:) i was under the impression thats what forums were for. opening a thread on a specific topic and more or less stickin to it..
why is it when someone opens a thread on a specific subject, after about 7 or 8 responses, it turns into a chat about something completly different.. i thought the idea of the forums was to raise questions and ideas and see what people think about them.. wanna flirt someone?mail them.. and theres a chtroom here, thought it would be easier there..
