I think the thread was a good idea and made us think about the way we can be percieved by people who are knew. I don't think that anyone was saying 'aren't we lucky we have been accepted' but sharing experiences that is how we look at what we do and try to change things for the better !! jmo
When i first came on the forums i thought it was very clicky and when i did feel brave enough to post, i felt invisible anyway as i was ignored.
Have also had some quite sarcastic and what i have found hurtful responses, so i now avoid posting on certain threads where some people are.
I got a couple of really nice mails from people welcoming me, that really made me feel i was starting to be accepted . Sometimes i think we respond to the people we know not meaning to be rude to others, and in my case learnt i had to make an effort myself to make friends here.
Hi vonny for me it's about the topic if it's about American politics i look but i don't post because i don't know enough about it, i did once and got my head ripped off., and if it's about religion i don't post because again i'm not religious. So maybe it looks that way ???
Hi In RL it takes a while to get known, and it is the same here. Took me a while to settle but pleased i stayed and have made some good friends. I seem to remember i answered some of your posts. Just give it a bit of time
