i was in similar situation for 16 years because i didn't have the courage to do something about it sooner, kept telling myself it would get better but believe me it doesn't !! Like you i thought there was something wrong with me.
Eventually i left with my 2 children and it was the best thing i've ever done, and my kids were happier.
I t's not easy and some days are tough but stick with it!
This is my second Christmas in Turkey and its great! You can still buy all the decorations and celebrate it if you want to but there's no pressure or hype. you can enjoy it for what it should be about.
