It would not surprise me at all if the book went down in history as a classic.
There may be people that hate the series and those that remain ignorant of its content, but the wonderful effect of getting kids to read is something that I deeply appreciate about it.
I read all the books except for the last one. I don't prefer her writing style but her story more than aptly made up for it. As I prefer books geared to an older audience I am not really in a position to judge that in particular.
If the books became classics and even required reading for kids in future generations I feel it could do the world some good. Her novels speak to kids and that I believe is not just a fad (unless we're driving cars that already fly or some other nonsense sometime soon lol).
I love darker cool colors, I find them relaxing XD
Though personally yes I also happen to like pink, not sure if it's a girl thing, but a splash of pink can be quite fun, especially when you wear dark colors all the time then go out in that brand new pink shirt, talk about getting noticed lol!
Does anybody here enjoy drawing by hand? It seems kinda rare nowadays to find someone that really enjoys pulling out the old fashioned paper and pencil lol.
Fellow artists, what do you enjoy drawing? What in this world can captivate you for hours? Why is it intriguing/fun to draw?
Me personally, I love looking at fantasy art and enjoy attempting to draw dragons, though on the other end I also draw anime. Ha ha ha, otaku strikes. I don't read or watch it much anymore but I still love drawing it!
To be honest all the categories and labeling groups really confuses me to death because people get so defensive and warp the categories around to their personal preference, am I crazy or just lost on this concept all together?
Anyhoo, I tend to like heavier music when the mood strikes, love listening to nice guitar solos and can't stand pop! I hate the sound of an auto tuner, yeah it's smooth but I think I'd rather listen to an old computer getting on the internet with dial-up!
Sorry for the rant, lol, not sure if the music I tend to listen to is considered "metal" but here goes nothing. I like five finger death punch, some of Slipknot's music and Shadows Fall.
I tend to love fantasy novels, especially when they have lovable characters.
Iron Dawn by Mathew Woodring Stover A song of Ice and Fire Series by George R.R. Martin
I'll also read Xanth novels on occasion (when the mood strikes) and adore Tad Williams for his amazing writing style, I've yet to read anything by him that I have not enjoyed.
Memoirs of a Geisha was also an excellent read. It was a beautiful blend of poetry and culture. It was an experience!
