My favorite is Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught because it's well-written, hilarious, deep, has an interesting plot, & lovable characters that you can really feel for. It's also very different from the typical historical romance. Rather than having a male main character who was born into everything that he has (money & title) this character, rejecting his inheritance & title, works his way to being one of the richest men in England by using his genius. And the love story is soooo fantastic & has a few twists. It's laugh/tear-worthy lol. It also brings my favorite couples from her previous books together.
Best historical romance that I've ever read. Read it 8 times so far & still pick it up to read my favorite parts!
My favorite book is a book I read as a child "Where the Red Fern Grows". Definitely alot of life lessons to be told in that book and it has a fantastic story as well. I definitely would love to have a 1st Edition of that book.

It's a tear jerker for sure of a story, although it's built around adolescence, fantastic story...One of the few times I really felt they made a fantastic adaption into film as well.
I really thought I wasn't going to like the movie, because of how much praise I had for the book, but I really thought they did a fantastic job staying absolutely true to the book with it..

I'm just reading Pope Joan of Donna Woolfolk Cross, it's amazing! it really makes me and and
it's a historical novel (I just love historical novels ) about a legend of her and though it's only a story, nevertheless it's reflecting the circumstances how they were been around that time 9th century the stand of women in front of the church (you know, they were less worth than a pig you can say, well, for some men is that still the only truth ), the cruelty and crime of the Christianity in the name of God!!!

i could go on.....
One of my favorites too.
Too many to mention like yourself MF, I could go on and on. But just recently have read "The Little World of Don Camillo", yet again. Has me in stitches every time I read it.
I tend to love fantasy novels, especially when they have lovable characters.
Iron Dawn by Mathew Woodring Stover A song of Ice and Fire Series by George R.R. Martin
I'll also read Xanth novels on occasion (when the mood strikes) and adore Tad Williams for his amazing writing style, I've yet to read anything by him that I have not enjoyed.
Memoirs of a Geisha was also an excellent read. It was a beautiful blend of poetry and culture. It was an experience!
