its a forum

in the forum culture we take a comment at face value

i think thats a different dynamic than the blog world maybe

more off the cuff comment and knee jerk response-
for some of us this is a preferable and more viable way to converse

but dictating what people must do, having a very small radius of what you will accept in others? and demanding people read the manuscript of you or do not respond to you?

how is that gonna work?

you were offered someone elses point of view/ their personal experience and opinion and you are trying to discount what they shared because they dont 'know' you???

i dont need to know what you believe to know what i believe- that doesnt even make any sense

if you arent interested in others' sharing you may not fit into a forum culture

you seem reallyu cemented in what you think you know and is therefore true and right

i understand that and i respect that

but i am only interested in getting to know people who understand that they are flawed and have a desire to grow

i have more in common with that type

where did you come from? you dont seem to have much understanding of social dynamics or how to get to know someone without their 'journal'

try giving us the benefit of the doubt- take us at face value and get to know us- you might even end up liking and caring for a few people

i dunno what was said about the no picture thing but its an old song
the eternal suspicion of a no pic profile

some people feel that way- i have had too many people become friends to me that were pictureless to buy into that stereotype
but we all are certainly welcome to drag around as many rock hard opinions as we like

where did you come from?

people have to have a pic and they have to read the posting history and blogs of anyone they wish to respond to in forums?


this isnt even feasible for so many reasons-
the time it would take for one

when you have a casual conversation with someone in the park they dont get to know all your deep thoughts and opinions and the process thru which you reached them

if we were all required to read everything here how would we have time to get to know each other thru conversation?

regarding the topic i have to go with up
20 years- only i would settle for removing 10

there is alot of mention around here about people and them having more than one profile and even talking to 'themselves' in forums

i just dont see how anyone could have that kind of time

if i could squeeze out more free time for myself i think i would use it to sleep
