I personally feel it's the music that draws more of the scary feel then the actual elements you see on the screen.
I do enjoy more suspense in horror films then the slasher type genres. Things that slowly sneak up, twisting the plot lines, more people disappearing and then BAM!!! Totally got ya.
Most of my past relationships, the bad side of the person surfaces around the month to 1 1/2 month mark in the relationship. This is not living with the person, but watching how their personalities might change with your own personal responsibilities that might effect your relationship with the other person.
This is not the primary standard that I measure most of my beginning relationships.
