Excuse my ignorance but, what would happen to the oil rigs if no one was running them? Can they not be shut down till everything in Lybia is over with? Why resupply the people there when they could be in just as much danger?

Americans have fought for everything they have going as far back as the 18th century. If you don't know, that is the 1700's. We have helped any countries out and fought many countries. News related US might be interviening in Lybia. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you would please do some research before pressing those keys. It would put you in a better mind set and avoid alot of arguments.

Dozens of Britons are being flown back to Gatwick from Libya after the first government-chartered plane reached the crisis-hit country overnight.
A plane chartered by oil companies for employees has left Tripoli, with the government flight due to follow. It is not yet clear how many are on board.
An RAF transport plane based in Malta has also been put on standby and another is en route to the island.
Stranded Britons have criticised the government's response to the crisis.
On Wednesday plans to send the first government-chartered rescue flight from Gatwick were hit by delays and it did not leave the UK until 2200 GMT.
I do believe if you keep reading...all the countries are flying to rescue their people. At the end of the article it says Gaddafi will fight till his last drop of blood. I do believe that just might happen. In fact I think we have already discussed that part... LOL!
Actually the muslim and Islam is a very fine line. Some say they are the same, some are different. it all depends on the individual person. The suicide bombers are Islamic cause the believe in Allah not Mohamad. Like I said it depends on the people really. no one can really know unless you speak to one of them.
