To me getting to know someone is getting to know their hopes, their dreams, their fears, etc. I do not see how you can get to know someone by joking back and forth, and talking about everything but (or even closing up on certain topics).
This is just my opinion, how does everyone else feel?
It is not changing your opinion, it is just seeing both sides. You believe what you believe, but if someone does not agree it does not make either of you right.
It still hurts though and it makes you think "Holly crap, if someone who does not know me read this.....well they would think I am a terrible mother." So yes in certain situations, I would allow what other's say bother me, but not define who I am.
I think we all let what others say bother us to a certain point......For instance if you were in court with your ex and in your court papers they made you sound terrible and unfit, would it not bother you especaill if none of it is true. I know it did me, but I did not allow it to define me, but I did become stronger and get proof that it was all lies.
Thanks guys, I hope so too. He is probably keeping them busy with mother's day with his wife, but that is ok cause I will enjoy it with my son when he comes home today. I am not going to let it bring me down, thanks again
I totally agree Paws, judging is having a closed mind. You have to get to know people, because what one person see's you to be may not be what other's see you as. Or even how you see yourself may not be what other's see you as.
Mine was his kindness and how we could talk for hours about anything and everything.........until he became nasty and his drinking became so severe I could not take it anymore, I did not want to live my life like that.
