The writing was on the wall thirty years ago, if we had any insight we would have taken notice of what happened in both the British and American automobile manufacturing plants. It comes down to one point, Quality of build. You can't blame discerning buyers for avoiding locally produced inferior products and scourcing either European or Japanese/South East Asian.
Maybe newcomers are getting a bit tired of everytime a reasonably intelligent subject is raised, it seems to degenerate into either unadulterated crap or it get's hijacked by the"usual suspects"!
Wasn't it Voltaire who said,"I may not agree with what you said, but I will defend to the death your right to express it!"?
May be only a "johnny-come-lately", but I am beginning to enjoy the forums until they denigrate into a personal slanging match, still, it does give one a bit of insight as to how others think.
