Play the post, not the poster.

RE: US troops urinate on the dead bodies of taliban soldiers

My mistake, its the Mujaheddin and not the Talaban, LOL. I figure their roughly the same bunch anyway, just a different decade perhaps?

RE: US troops urinate on the dead bodies of taliban soldiers

The US and the Talaban used to be such good friends when they both had communism to fight.

How times have changed......

RE: US troops urinate on the dead bodies of taliban soldiers

I dont in any way support or have sympathy with the talaban and am glad they are out of power. I was just pointing out the dilemma in which a moral argument is put forward to invade a country such as afghanistan on the basis of the treatment of its own people. Lots of countries have severe cultural or political problems, but it seems only the ones that are of strategic importance resource wise or geopolitically, like afghanistan and iraq, are the ones that are conveniently targeted.

I dont doubt there are good people doing good work there, and building schools and helping women is nice, but theres far to many dead civilians from airstrikes(many thousands)(thats terrorism too even tho we like to think its not, has the same effect, blows the arms and legs off innocent women and children, sry to be graphic but point needs to be made).

Once everyone leaves, the taliban will be sharing power with the new crowd(i think they mite be already), and i doubt they will have changed their views on women or society.

RE: US troops urinate on the dead bodies of taliban soldiers

And what exactly did the taliban do to deserve this kind of treatment!? They are defending their country from foreign aggressors. Weather you like it or not, they are perfectly entitled to wage war against the coalition forces and they are supported by a considerable amount of the civilian population.

RE: US troops urinate on the dead bodies of taliban soldiers

No offence to american people(innocent), but in the last 10 years the US army has directly/indirectly murdered, tortured and terrorized hundreds of thousands(if not millions!) of completely innocent people across multiple countries.

Taking a piss on a few dead guys is therefore not in the least bit surprising or out of character.

It could have been alot worse, they could have made a naked pyramid out of all the dead people, and then took a piss on them. Now that would be shocking D:!

RE: David Norris

If somone wants to die let them. As long as they are not suffering from mental health problems, which would impair their ability to make a decision.

Not allowing somone to die if they were in everyday torture is pretty vile if you ask me. If I was ever struck down with fatal painful disease or severe physical injury (lose all limbs?) Id prob consider the same thing.

People can just get on a flight to switzerland to do it anyway.

Irish economy, its not my fault!

I suppose i am guilty by association, damn it.

Ok lads, dont talk about our economy, and if it comes up, dont try and defend it either >.<

Irish economy, its not my fault!

No one thats in government now, nor anyone that was in government beforehand.

Irish economy, its not my fault!

So anyway, i was making small talk with someone from another country. We end up talking about our economies. At this point i was insulted about the irish economy as if i had personally wrecked it. "Your mess" as it was put.

I then made the point that it was in fact a load of german and french banks(mainly) that gambled and lost all their money in irish casino's, and that irish people dont want to pay it at all since its not ours.

I conceded that we do have a certain deficit which is our own fault, but the bulk of the bailout we got has been going back into these foreign banks and that we were not really like greece who actually has a horrendous deficit problem.

At this point i was just brushed aside like you would a madman who's trying to blame somone else for his ills. Ill prob never hear from that person again.

But, am i really a madman or am i right? And isnt it appallingly ignorant to have a go at somone like that aswell >:O?

RE: Christian terrorism on rise ?

Some would argue that christian countries(aka usa + europe) have been terrorising people in the middle east under the guise of legitimate military action.

A bomb is a bomb is a bomb, weather its strapped to your chest or dropped out of a plane. Theres no difference.

Look at NATO in libya?

Christian terrorisim is fact of life much more so than muslim terrorism, its only that a blind eye is turned.
