yes.. i agree that it is alot of work... there is alot of work to having the surgery. It is a lifestyle change and you have to do what they tell you to do to avoid the risks
hmmm so do you have more info on that? Where would I go to find the info? I am willing to check all options before I make a firm decision. If I could find something that would work for me well with my problems of being limited to exercise and physically do what I need to do to make it work.. I will be willing to try it at this point. I am not really excited about the surgery... Thats why I wanted the pros and cons. Thanks for your input and any info you might have to share.
yes.. mine is for health reasons.. as stated in my first thread. I have a friend that has had the surgery done for cosmetic reasons. That is not my intentions. I love myself for who I am. I am very confident with the size I am now.. but I have had some health issues come up that I have to address my weight over. So this is what my Doctor suggested. I have tried diet programs with barely any results. (I have 2 titanium cages in my back) So.. it is very hard for me to exercise other than walking to help get the weight off. That is the main reason that he suggested me being a candidate for the lap band.
I don't know about where you are.... but I called Baylor hospital (in Dallas, Tx) hotline and got the info. They scheduled me for the seminar and got the ball rolling for me. You might check your local hospital and ask if they have a bariatrics unit. They could answer your questions and might be a big help. I will keep you posted as I get more information on it.
I went to a seminar last night on it. I had to fill out some info. and I have to mail it back in today. Once they get my packet... one of the surgeons will call me in for a consult, and go from there. They even help get your insurance to approve you. I am hoping that it works out for me and I get approved. My oldest sister had the gastric bypass... where they actually cut and bypass some of your stomach. I don't want that one. I am not overweight enough to do something that drastic. The lap band is where they just band off part of your stomach and it is reversable if it doesn't work for you or you don't like the results.
Hi! Just wondering if anyone has had this procedure. I would like to hear the pros and cons from someone first hand. This is something that I have considered. I went to a seminar on it last night. If I have this done.. It would be for health reasons. Any comments greatly appreciated!
Well welcome to CS! I have been here for almost a year now, but I get on in spurts! (I travel alot with my job) I have made alot of good friends on this site. Good luck to you! And which part of missouri are you located in? I have family in Lincoln!
I have met several people from different sites. A few have become my best friends! I still talk to most of the people i have met. There was only one bad experience and it from this site! I'm still here though..and he's Not!
15-19 -- You've got some areas that could use some work. Take a good look at everything you did not rate a "Yes" and think about what you could do that would change you from "No" or "Sort of" to "Yes."
Not bad... I already knew I needed to work on things...
I am a full figured girl.... and I have found alot of guys that are attracted to a bigger built girl! It does really depend on how you carry yourself and how confident you are and if you dress appropriately... Just my opinion!
Has anyone on this site had the Lap-Band weight loss surgery?
yes.. i would love to hear your program and congrats on a great start!
