you should not have to scarifice your well being or your childrens for anyone if they ask you to choose then they are probably not worth the effort to begin with as far as a relationship in my opinion.no one should have to be controlled another regardless you should be able to be free to be you and enjoy the way you are.
I don`t think you should have to choose your friends per say, I believe it is a mutal thing and having respect and similar interests not identical because after all variety is the spice of life.
