My somewhat elderly cat from the SPCA here in New Zealand has recently taken to sleeping on a shelf next to a beautiful picture of the family dog, who passed away recently from old age and arthritis. He sits and looks intently at the picture, then curls up next to it and goes to sleep! Curious creatures, cats!
Just played first gig with band. I never realised how hot it is on stage! God, it's like a sauna, even with just a few lights! Poor bassist was dripping with sweat!
Just heard Syd's "Dark Globe" on the radio! You know, it still sounds fresh even today! So much so in fact that for the first few seconds I thought it was a cover version! But no, it was our Syd!
To Jeanc200658: I still stick by what I said earlier, but you are perfectly right of course; Christians often are expected to be perfect alot of the time, you make a valid point. As I said, I have no problem with Christianity, I just wonder if perhaps some of the evangelists are putting off more people than they're converting. Peace.
Play guitar in a band, but we haven't had much live experience. We're all somewhat stage-shy I think, but we're keen! Still trying to think of a name though!
Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with Christianity, but I can totally understand why some people are put off! I know there are many many good Christians who genuinely care for others and are a force for good in this world, but I've more often come across ones who are cold and unfeeling, with very little patience and compassion for others. Sorry if that offends anyone, it's just been my experience. I think eastern religions like Buddhism and Taoism have much to teach us in the west, and also the spirituality of different peoples and cultures, such as the wisdom of the Native American people and the Celtic "nature" religions as they are sometimes called.
Haven't seen the animated series, though I hear it's very good. I believe it's all drawn by the same artist responsible for Samurai Jack, which is one awesome cartoon! I love all the films, though my favourite would have to be Return Of The Jedi. R2-D2 rocks!
Yes, dear Syd passed away not long ago from complications due to diabetes I think it was mainly. I was very very sad, I grew up with his songs! Read recently that Dave had been planning on going to visit him too, would have been the first time in possibly 15 years or something, so I wonder how he's taking it.
