In order to find "the right lady" one must try to look, nicht war...sometimes almost anyone is better than no one, even if it is just for a cafe, something to have someone with whom to speak; better than isolation other than the people you work with or clients; better than renting/ buying someone's time in some hotel room, even being here is better...%)
One caveat however, be careful about communicating using conceptual artie. Yoko Ono's many works) I lost several jobs as ther works were termed "just too strange",(very politically incorrect) c'est la vie...oh, but it was fun!!!! %)
Art is from you, your soul, your vision; then comes the perceptions of others as to any "artistic merit" Never rely on that aspect, rely on yourself expression in whatever field you create a work in, be it the Fine arts, graphics, music, writing etc. The gentleman above mentioned that in today's world anything can be termed "art" and has been since the 60's as a commercial product; some of it can be rather outrageous or hilarious, even a scathing rebuke on itself. Artistic works can be highly sarcastic, visually, but to me one prime ingredient that should be there at it's creation if FUN; without it it all becomes tedious even depressing. Fun comes from your heart, not a tube and those who gaze, who admire your work will sense it . Imagine Dali or Picasso not having fun creating their art, even if they laughed all the way to the bank! The above comments by the gentleman said it all rather well and I agree. I also like the French difference in concepts between Artist and une Artiste...very subtle but highly significant...have FUN! %)
On water conservation, I think that we need more "turkish style" bath houses something like the saunas up in Sweden; well run and very clean and very comfortable, open to the public.%) (makes for nice socializing; nice place for a date...)
That is when I wake and go work on my art....nice and stii, quiet one can almost hear the clouds drift by in the breeze...I reach over and touch gently one of my cats and she begins to purr ever so softly....%)
Turning points....to everything there is a season, not everything has a reason...reminds me of old song: Turn, Turn, Turn. Lives, deaths, marriages, divorces all things, events that one cannot turn away from to avoid good, bad, positive, negative, indifferent; all depends on your perspective; what is a tragic point in a life is but a comedy for another. The only thing I'm sure of is that they continue on and perhaps mine will never stop...infinity goes on forever...
Wonderful idea! But for my third, being sometimes an incurable optimist and "romantic", I'd go for 3 more, one for finally finding to ever elusive "special woman"! %)
For my daughter when she started dating, I gave her a copy of a poem by Ani DiFranco from "If He Tries Anything". " it's a long long road it's a big big world we are wise wise women we are giggling girls we both carry a smile to show when we're pleased both carry a switchblade in our sleeves" Harsh perhaps but I highly value her life and safety. When she is thinking of marriage, I'll remind her to ask herself "Is this the man I want my children to spend the weekends with?" Hopefully she will avoid that scenario altogether as she continues to mature...%)
Moi?? Oh madame a cruise through your canals(in Holland) on a luxurious barge playing Anthony and Cleopatra, sipping Creme de Chocolat feeding each other petite bons-bons and heavenly morsels of ambrosia while reciting poetry from ...Allen Ginsburg! Ahhh, better than dinning at a MacD's or a 7-11 ...%)
Someone, someone naturally very special, not just someone at random, to have for when I arrive home....to talk with , to play around with...sometimes being surrounded by art and books, a few pets and my son just isn't the same. The memories of having had someone, a wife, are very intangible; they are like pages from some obscure book read a long, long time ago...I can't relate to them anymore; that is the essence of something being intangible...like if it was someone from a book and not you... so yes, it is that "special someone" that I want to have ...just some fleeting thoughts on a rather obscure topic for me...%)
A most wise and humane response to a deadly topic. I have no fascination for or in guns of any type but I do admire the designs, the exquisite workmanship and even the artistic engravings on many, but in my experiences with many weapons while in military service has left me wondering at both the casual use of them in the needless slaughter on so many peoples and at how hard it is / must be for some to live and avoid the proverbial "killing fields" be they on a foreign battlefield or in the jungles of your own urban areas; I find that not killing to be the hardest of all in today's climate. I have always thought that a truly "civilized" country would be one in which duelling was legal and allowable within certain restrictions. I will never find fault however that have no use for guns, or wish we all lived in a world where they were not needed to sometimes survive or protect those whom you love or have the soldier's responsibility to always defend the weak, the civilians, those who cannot defend themselves, the same basic responsibility that our ancestors had as knights. Today it is a all like a shooting gallery and we are all potential targets...and the beat goes on....
I can't resist this...I'm very partial to sauces, like Dijon or Creole, what people use in Louisiana, if she is wearing either, than most any slightly chilled vin or vintage is fine; she being the lady that I would be with...%)
HA! In some countries, the motorists aim for the cyclist, just like a game....try a bike in Manhattan or Detroit! Motorists will in places go after the bikers on the sidewalks and shoulders, just like they do trying to hit animals...you're safe only driving a tank in many cities, especially in North America, while in a cities like Rio, Sao Paulo or Buenos Aires, the motorists will go up unto a sidewalk or drive through a park to avoid a red light, you just have to be prepared to move fast and jump out of the way....%)
My first topic would be that "Louie Louie" be adopted as the new anthem song...then once the music fades down, I'd propose that all the post-colonial borders of Africa be re-drawn as they should have been upon all former colonies. We all know how arbitrary those borders were drawn by the various European powers and all the continuing bloodshed those have caused. I would propose that for starters all tribes be united, dispensing with the current political borders; this will give something the Organization of African States to do that would truly benefit all the peoples/ tribes. Hopefully in this process those corrupt politicians and those self appointed dictators can be gotten rid of. Baring all that , that would entail, then a pan African military force under UN command be formed once and for all set to intervene in the various bloodbaths that seem to always turn into genocidal "ethnic cleaning"...I've lost count on how many times I've seen it in so many places there...I'd like to contribute to ending it all...%)
I totally agree with you, that it is we, Europeans who are really international; a single continent with only one language doe not make the "amuricanese" international in any way. We are two separate worlds...almost like living on different planets really; lets not combine. Philosophically, we have no identity issues or crisis; we are all truly unique, yet we are Europeans.
A bit, well actually most of the above; yes, things would indeed be very interesting; non stop deliriously delicious banter back and forth like a never ending ping-pong game, with time out for sensuous meals, like the eating scene in the movie "Tom Jones" with Albert Finney! (insert a "rebel yell" here) &)
un-noticed?? that naked little kid with winged type deformities growing out of his back and carries a blow gun..or was it a crossbow..oh, a longbow with barbed tips (without a licence) and suddenly flutters out of some tree or out from behind a bush or a dumpster if in an urban area, and tries to shoot you in the heart?? How can he hide from everyone so well?? Peoples all over the world are desperately hunting for this creature; we all need to find and capture him!! What is his alias..Putrid...stupid..lupid...oh, Cupid!! Yes, we need to find him/ it or finds us first! %)
und, Grussen von mir auch %) I fully agree that we do not need an all German forum as the lady said. I merely came to see if it only concerned Germany as a country. Too many would not understand or misunderstand; but then we all could revert to Old English from Chaucer's time which was mostly still German...%) if all else fails, we can brush up on our Latin...Vero, Latine loqui non est difficilus..or perhaps "Rap"...%)
Good responce! That keyboard, whether it types out letters or music, it all says a lot about us as human beings needing to connect with others in some fashion; it is also, perhaps the message of what drives us to connect, the fear, or even the many terrors of being alone, isolated from others. We are basically social and we all, at times, feel this need that drives us to try and connect, even by a musical keyboard...%)
Oh, the unexpected...ok, and now for something completely different! Greetings and salutations one und all, my psychiatric board have released me on an indefinite pass and so, voila, here I iz folks! I am "incognito" I have unlimited prescriptions but Life is still so dull; hopefully here will be much more interesting than having only card board cutouts that call themselves people walking around like zombies. My whole town is in dire need of a party! It is terrific to have our own EU forum!! , Danke Connecting Singles; do we also perhaps get an anthem...?? %)
