Our next Pres is going to have his hands full with that. It seems that there are no good options. He will just have to find the least bad one. Or probably just guess at it. nobody really knows what will happen if the US pulls out. Will they finally make a political settlement or could the war widen?
Sure you guys got to go lots of places, but would it have been worth it if you had some critical body parts blown off? And I have known a couple of guys with that gulf war syndrome. Who knows what kind of stuff you get exposed to.
Even if he is a nice guy, he will be sent out on tours over and over again. There are not enough people in the military. Then he may come back with half his parts missing. It's DANGEROUS in the military.
That kind of thing happens all the time - remember Somalia? There was plenty of aid going, but the factions were trying to starve each other out. It is a very common practice during strife. And Africa has always ben full of wars.
