I'm agree with you in a way...it's not a question of citizenship,okay. But I think that your question to your friends was a kind of traquenard. It could be the same silence if you asked them to give you the list of the french departements, even they are french...question of memory. But my question about the US is how they feel about the foreign cultures...In france you know that better than me, people know pretty much about US...Sometimes without making the choice (movies,news,politics...)
But here I feel like people aren't "interested" about culture...So I wanna know the part belong to cultural studies in school programs...

as I said I can't have a definitive opinion about that. but it seem that my friends(I deeply hope that they are not representative of the majority) don't know a lot about "le monde"...

Do you feel that the US citizen aren't openminded?I have some discussion with american collegues but it seem that they don't know alot about others courntries and cultures. So I just wanna know why the world looks so "far and strange" for the americans. I don't wanna build my opinion on my closed experiences, that why i ask here if people considere that american are open to other civilisations and societies...
