Traveling Ireland.

What I was saying with that statement was that there are sites such as couchsurfing where people post for meeting strangers all over the world, and staying in their homes to sleep. So if my post about looking for some one to show me around Ireland is scary, then these sites would be scary also. I don't think the site is scary, nor the others like it, hence I didn't expect some of the negative and nasty commentary this post received. It wasn't a slating of the site, it was a reference to why I didn't think my post would solicit some of the reactions it has received. Hope that clears it up.

Jac379 has been banned. Her posts got nastier and irrational. I don't mind sarcastic banter and good natured ribbing, but pure unadulterated negativity is too much. Challenge me all you want, but if you aren't going to seek the truth, have no interest in it and then make unsubstantiated, vicious claims, find some where else to spout your rage. I'm trying to find ways to enjoy this beautiful country. A poorly articulated initial post does not warrant such vitriol. A lot of ball busting, yeah, of course, I deserve that...

Really? Did you not really read the post? With all the sarcasm on this post? And I didn't "slate" it.... Maybe you should reread it.

Dang I hate typos. Last note: NONE of that was meant to be proof, and you are rather silly to consider it so. It was all written from humor, a reaction to what I thought was good nature mockery at a poor post. You are the only one that has gotten so bent up about this.

Do you really think someone would offer proof of a picture as I did? Seriously.

I actually got the idea from posts where I was in graduate school of people looking for rides to different places. I am a generally optimistic person, like people and enjoy adventuring. And, after meeting some really cool people in Dublin today thought that I should see if there was anyone interested in an adventure.

I didn't know it wasn't a good idea, just thought it might be a new experience and a fun way to see Ireland from a local's perspective. I have met a number of really cool people by hosting on couchsurfing and by answering singles ads, but I have met some freaks at the coffee shops that ended any further interest as well.

This is all a new experience for me. Regardless of the results of this post, I am going to enjoy my trip around Ireland and meeting new people where ever I go. ;-)

LOL. Wow, jac379, you are really bored. I won't respond to any of your list, but it was definitely entertaining. Thanks for a good laugh!

I wish I could, but I plan on coming back in May. I have to go back to the states for my little girls birthday, so I am getting in what I can. I have had a great time meeting people so far, haven't been to any pubs but Whelans. I am planning on fixing that tomorrow though and the rest of this week. ;-)

Thanks for your tips! Maybe I'll see you in one. :-D

A clear lesson in be careful what you wish for... ;-)

Thanks! I have loved my first two weeks here, want to explore more than the distance between Tallaght and Dublin now. ;-)

Looking forward to meeting people too, just not sure how to go about it or where to go to find quality people...

Hey Jenny68, check your email!

Not this one, but if I ever decide to have a death trip v2.0, I'll be sure to extend an invite. :-P

However, I fully encourage you to start one of your own. I am sure the Garda haven't much to do these days, except chasing car thieves like the ones that almost ran me over tonight.

You should check out the thread in the Ireland forums, it is pretty funny. Even if I don't find a taker, it was worth the post!

Oh, and there might be other, non-Irish people on here that might like to adventure as well. So Now I have it in both forums. Thanks.

I am in Ireland until the 15th of January. I would like to find someone that might like to rent a car and tour around with me. Preferably a woman, this might be a fun date. ;-) Send me an email if you are interested! I am a writer and photographer from the USA, so I intend on making a lot of stops for pictures and to appreciate Ireland's beauty. I am not so interested in the typical touristy places.

Didn't realize there was one, thanks for the tip. ;-)
