Forgot to add: I am a writer and photographer from the USA, so I intend on making a lot of stops for pictures and to appreciate Ireland's beauty. I am not so interested in the typical touristy places.

Hard to find that in the few weeks you're here, if you would stay for a while the best thing is to join a club, organisation etc. Just be good humoured and open-minded and start chatting to the locals in the pub.

I wish I could, but I plan on coming back in May. I have to go back to the states for my little girls birthday, so I am getting in what I can. I have had a great time meeting people so far, haven't been to any pubs but Whelans. I am planning on fixing that tomorrow though and the rest of this week. ;-)
