Well there's no one answer to that question that fits everyone. In my case it was cheating. I tried to find a way to live with that fact, but realised that cannot happen without her active participation. But we found ourselves in a situation of a one-way street where I was doing all I could to put the past behind and looking forward to a more harmonious present only to realise there was no such efforts from her side.
That was when I told her in the presence of a counsellor to sign the divorce papers.
