As far as the question as to what EI is good for, a lot of Canadians would like the answer to that one.

However, it is supposed to provide assistance to you in the event that you lose your employment after the qualifying time to give you time to find new employment.

The year starts when you are hired.

The best place to find answers would be either your employer or a local employment office.

Dawn50, you are right on the money!

Otherwise how could you explain cases where two people break up and each finds someone with whom they stay for years. And, too, do you know couples who have been together a long time and you just cannot figure out why? You, everyone and not just Dawn50, are judging the opposite-gender person from your perspective and you probably wouldn't be a good match, either.

Another possibility, because you are a very attractive and intelligent lady, is that he would want not to do anything offensive. Possibly he as waiting to find out what you found interesting before he launched on a line in which you had no interest or which offended you.

It has been said that you only get one chance to make a good impression. Unfortunately, in trying not to make a bad impression, many people - because I assume this happens with the ladies, too - will withhold a lot of themselves.

Maybe he was admiring you from aclose (if you are wondering, I just made that word up - opposite of afar).

They do have a form of spellcheck, springbox. If a little red line appears under rthe word, it is spelled incorrectly or at least not recognized by the system.

You could then use a dictionary, either printed or online.

This is the real world. This is a game park and is prowled by predators disguised otherwise. Anyone who isn't skittish is either a fool or has a death wish. It's no wonder people, mostly women but some men, are as jumpy as a deer in a den of lions.

Even blind golfers sink it now and then. Enjoy the trip.

I met her 41 years ago. She was 16, I was 18. We married 7 years later and she died 33 years and 122 days after that. What you want changes; I don't want to follow her any more. I thought about it but now if it happens, it happens, but I am getting stronger. Go figure.

My daughters need me to help them through it and that is now my first priority. Putting someone else's welfare above your own helps.

Maybe one's my limit, maybe not. Maybe being here will help me find out. Maybe not.

No matter what plans you make, life can get in the way, alter your perceptions and even your reality. I had one lif long marriage and as good as it was I don't know about another.

Smoking can cause a lot more trouble than cancer, for example, trouble with lungs and heart. Alcohol in smaller amounts will not and it has been shown that a glass or two with a meal can aid digestion.

Most wines don't stink and vodka has little or no taste or smell.

Govern yourself accordingly.

Usually with a knife but occasionally with a fork or spoon. Hot, open face, for example.

I went to one; I happened to be in the area when it was on. It was no biggie. I'm not that emotional about most people, especially if I haven't seen them for 35 years.

I'd go to another if I had nothing better to do. And they had my current address to ask me. Could be interesting. That's a lot of years ago. There were only a handful I gave a damn about, anyway, and who wants to find that they're dead?

Or how about this one I just invented: If you have a closed mind nothing gets in: it's sort of like being dead and just waiting to fall over.

Being open minded does not mean being foolishly accepting. It is opening yourself to the endless possibilities around you. Next time you go out, take off your damn ipod and listen. How many sounds can you hear and interpret? Do you really look at people? Do you realize that. like you, they all have a story? Would you be willing to listen to any?

Sometimes I wonder why I bother.
