Sweet! Wish I had a nice American Standard Strat...
"Guitar Hero" is raping the purity that is the Cult Of The Almighty Six-String (or seven-string as the case may be).
I take heart in the knowledge that there will always be kids out there who are purists at heart, take one look at a game like that and say, "Screw that. I'm heading for the music store..."
Um...folks...I've been jamming to Heep since I was about 16. You're darn tootin' I know who Hensley is. He's pretty much the heart and soul of the band.
(If anyone can name this song, they will have truly earned the blessing of the Almighty Dancing Banana God )
It's raining outside, but that's not unusual. But they way that I'm feeling's becoming usual. I guess you could say the cloud's movin' away... away from your days and into mine.
Now it's rainin' inside. It's kind of a shame. And it's getting to me, a happy man. Why should you want to waste all my time? The world is yours, but I am mine.
Rain, rain, rain... In my tears. Measuring carefully my years. Shame, shame, shame... In my mind. See what you've done to my life.
NightLady...honey...there is absolutely nothing wrong with your pics, okay? Please, I beg you to take my word for it. lol You're a very attractive woman. To be honest, I think the pic of you sitting in your car is cute as hell. You look adorable!
I understand what you're saying, but I must respectfully disagree.
You say that one can't just go by what's in a person's profile, and of course that's true. But it's a start. If your profile contains nothing, then you're giving people nothing to go on. A sketchy idea of your personality is better than no idea. Otherwise, why have profiles at all? We may as well just have usernames and photos and treat the whole thing like a game of roulette.
It's true that not everyone will interpret your profile the way you intended, but I think one should be as honest, forthright and thorough as possible with their profile even in the face of probable misinterpretation. As you yourself pointed out, nobody wants to waste time getting to know someone only to find out there's some deal-killing detail that makes dating the person impractical or impossible. The best profile is always an honest one. And also...try to remember that how a person says things in their profile is as telling as what they say. I'm sure you know what I mean...ever read a profile that sounds great on the surface, but after a while you get the feeling like you're not so much being talked to as trying to be convinced?
Believe me, I fully understand that internet dating can be frustrating. I've been looking for almost a year now and I haven't had so much as a promising date yet. But try to be patient. The one for you is out there. And while it's true your profile isn't the be-all and end-all of it...it never hurts to bait the line with something juicy.
Even so, you put time and effort into your work and you should show it. You can get a MySpace or Deviant Art page for free. You should go sign up and post some of you work for others to see. On Deviant Art, people are generally very friendly about giving constructive critiques.
Yes I do actually. I've been a serious musician for about 15 years or so. But unfortunately all my music is sitting on my hard drive half finished because I ran into financial troubles and had to sell all my gear, including my axe. I miss my Wolfgang Special!
I could record some things with my acoustic, but I don't even have a decent mic anymore.
