My €5 worth...inflation...a killer we know...dang that Euro...stay...can't promise Shakespeare Sister but it can happen...Skimmpy...gratuitous mention but hoping with eyes crossed (getting difficult to cross the road ) that he met a great girl last Sat night. And Hess...take heed of her post boy...makes sense to most
Thank you for taking that in the spirit it was given in.
Not saying that the guys who turned up to rob the cash had a right to it but as an aside but relevant point in terms of society today...we are over-taught our rights and under-taught our responsibilities.
I respect every person I come across everyday...we should all expect that but not many practice it. No-one deserves their life to be taken but we live in a society that includes guns...I'm sure both sides were doing a "job" today. Some went home safe...some didn't...that is life. We all have choices and some are harder than others.
Not meaning to be morbid, this has always been my favourite poem, read a piece in the Sunday Times today by Daughter of the Author of The "Empire of the Sun" and she mentioned that in her Fathers autobiography "Memoirs of Life" that he said he had a gallery of life in his head that he could always visit and thought...
Because I Could not Stop for Death
by: Emily Dickinson
Because I could not stop for Death— He kindly stopped for me— The Carriage held but just Ourselves— And Immortality.
We slowly drove—He knew no haste And I had put away My labor and my leisure too, For His Civility—
We passed the School, where Children strove At Recess—in the Ring— We passed the fields of Gazing Grain— We passed the Setting Sun—
Or rather—He passed Us— The Dews drew quivering and chill— For only Gossamer, my Gown— My Tippet—only Tulle—
We paused before a House that seemed A Swelling of the Ground— The Roof was scarcely visible— The Cornice—in the Ground—
Since then—'tis Centuries—and yet Feels shorter than the Day I first surmised the Horses' Heads Were toward Eternity—
Nope, it never works unless you both are in the same Country, not meaning to put a dampener on things and bring the mood
If one person chooses to move to a place where they want to be for a relationship then it can work. Outside of that, unfortunately it doesn't work if both persons are prepared to live apart ad infinitum
No offense intended Padraig but women are (were) treated differently...as was pointed out in missdundalk's post on the 1950's housewife...think it is apt to say that the 'greet your man after work with your lipstick freshly applied and a ribbon in your hair' ethos would be enough to drive any woman to drink/strangulation choose your poison
Have a look on the web for the updated version of the guidelines...it's a hoot
