Here many girl are so poor with no chance of ever changing their situation... If you dont have college... hard for you to get a good job! Some job have height or age requirement! Many of us our parents run out of money before we finish high school or college (i finish high school, but not my siblings)... So many girls have low pay and live day to day... It meant she cant afford always to pay to load her phone or pay hourly at internet cafe! But she spend her money on that anyway coz she believe he will be the one...
If guy picked a good girl and not scammer then marriage to Filipina will last long time! In Philippines there is no divorce, so ppl work hard to make marriage happy. I think most Filipina tried hard to make her marriage work even when its hard... If divorce is legal in your place then its last resort to her! If she love the man enough to marry him and trust him enough to leave everything she knows to go with him... she will do all she can to make it last! They say Filipina married with foreigner trying hard to make marriage last coz of "debt of gratitude"... She so thankful he picked her and pulled her out of her situation that she may put up with a lot and work hard to make sure the marriage last and they are happy.
Exactly!!!! Many girl here waiting months and months or years for guy who promise a visit her here... Some guys I think have no plan of ever coming to meet their girlfriend... but these girls accepted every excuse and kept waiting for him because they love him! Thats why I prefer a man who could meet ASAP (within 2 months)... So we see if we have chemistry and wanted to pursue more. If the man looking for a LONG-TERM LDR then I think he just bored and want pretty girl to chat with on webcam... Maybe they just wanna play with hearts?
For me I am open to date foreign man... But I dont like LDR at all! It sound crazy huh? What I meant is I dont want a long-term LDR... Thats kinda depressing to me! If I met foreign man online, I dont mind phone call/Skype, text and email for a month or two... But really I prefer man who would visit me here soon so we see if we have chemistry... Thats how we would know if we choose to pursue a "relationship". If we like each other in person and we want to continue the relationship, I hope he thinking of marriage and want to marry soon. As you may know about Philippines, many girl married foreign man. Some find guy online and got married within 3 or 4 months and others meet a guy but it take a year or longer of chatting, calling, visits before they got married. So I can say how I see LDR work in my country:
1. Found each other online (like each other profile) 2. Send messages to learn each other relationship goal and seriousness 3. If seeking same then exchange Skype or email address 4. Weeks or months of getting to know each other online. 5. Decide to meet in person. 6. Whoever can travel easier visit the other person. (Here most girl are to poor to meet requirement for tourist visa to go to USA. So the guy usually visit her here). 7. Spend 2 weeks or a month getting to know each other in person. seeing if you like each other. 8. If you liked each other, stay in touch after his visit and plan another visit ASAP. 9. Some guys propose on the second visit. Other guys propose on Skype. 10. If she say yes then they decide they marry in Philippines or the man country. 11. Man usually have to petition for his wife or fiance based on his country rules.
Lots of girls in my city here find foreign men and go with them... I saw this process happen many times with classmates and friends...
Hmm, about scammer... I dont know what to say... Just dont send your money! Even I get message from scammer men and I live here in a poor country! I dont have extra money to give, so I just say "sorry I'm poor too"... That works and they dont message anymore.
