yes, sweets, but it's all good. I wonder how many remember being a kid and wanting to grow up so we could do "adult" things like drive a car or go in bars. Time seemed to drag on. Then comes a point in some people's lives where we would like time to slow down or even back up so we could be kids again. Obviously we can't do that. The kids today haven't changed in that respect. They seem to grow up fast but to them it's slow. So we should tell our kids or friend's kids to enjoy it while they can. the bills and babies will come in due time. Yes, No?
I remember watching the Beatles the first time on the Ed Sullivan Show on a black and white TV. I remember when a quarter got you a bottle of pop and a bag of chips. I remember digging caves in snowbanks or building crude rafts to float on the farm dugout with my brothers. I remember, at about 8, farmers would gang up and do the threshing from bundled sheaves. The men worked while the women prepared great meals. I remember cutting my hand with an axe at around 5. I still have the scar.
I don't mind if whoever I'm involved with on a project has a different opinion on how something could be done. It just might be a better idea. The people I have the hardest time with are those stubborn ones (men or women) who will not consider other opinions. It's frustrating.
Hi all. Good thread. As for personal maintenance, I like to dress for the occasions and be shaved and clean in public. To me, sweats may be fine around home but people who wear sweats or PJs in public look sloppy and too lazy to care. As for power tools, I have one of everything. We guys need them for all those projects our women want done around the house. Heck, some guys think "we should talk" sounds like a good time to get buzy and build a deck or a gazebo.
I prefer a more natural look on a woman. If she uses beauty products to maintain that natural look so be it. I know some women may not have much choice. Their jobs may require a certain apearance. For example; nurses can't wear a lot of perfume on the job because some patients are alergic. I prefer blue jeans but I wouldn't expect a lady lawyer or high-end realtor to wear blue jeans at work. What turns me off are women who look like they just got up and ran out the door in PJs, sweats or (Ugh)spandex. These might have their place at home for the comfort but they make people (guys included) look sloppy and too lazy to dress appropriately. As a people watcher I think guys are more guilty of this than women.
No, your right. There was a time about 20 years ago I went through some harsh realities that forced me to recognize and accept feelings and deal with them more positively. As he sees his problems as being caused by other people, he sees no reason to change. It's like he feels like he doesn't deserve to be happy. And his life has been as normal as anyone else I know.
We were both 17. I had my first car. What started out as paradise by the dashboard lights became a solid friendship throughout our 11th grades. It felt so natural to spend all our time together, learning, giving and sharing our hopes and dreams. What tore us apart was when her mother started making wedding plans. We both knew we needed a little more growing up. Haven't seen her since '72 but will never forget Gisele.
Yep, sometimes just a smile from a stranger can make a guys day. It could also be contageous. I know someone who emits negativity day after day, has very little to offer in the way of encouragement to others and openly points out the bad things in life and how someone else is to blame for his problems. If someone smiles at him he gets suspicious and has very little good to say about people. He is a real downer. I don't think he realizes the effect he has on people. I try to avoid this type of person but this one is my brother.
jesse, you shouldn't make such deals. You're agreeing to believe in a concept that has not been broven without a shadow of a doubt against somthing that has.
I think jesse's answer is spot on. resistance, if it's water, kites, or anything else that moves. there is a certain amount of energy from somewhere make things move too. Like the formula for work; Work=Force x Distance. I wasn't that good at science or physics in school and retained very little of what sunk in but I do know this; If you lift your arm, it's work. If your action is to pull on the hair of the girl in front of you, there could be an equal or oppsite reaction that creates heat.
Somewhere less touristy like Bulgaria would be my first choice. A friend of mine grew up there and he has told me a lot about it. The people are friendly, the winters are short, and the summers are warm. The Black Sea is on the East. The Balkan mountains run through it, and the Danube river to the north. Travel by train or car. Fruits and nuts grow wild. If you travel by car you can pull over anywhere along the roadside, throw down a blanket, have a picnic or just enjoy the pickins and each other.
If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem. No amount of praying will stop what people do to people. From what I can tell, no God has properly punished the corrupt. It's the poor and lower casted who feel the pain of corruption. All over the world the top 3% control the rest. You can tell the most corrupt by the level of protection they need. MONEY dictates. Money buys corruption. The corrupt control the masses with propaganda and brainwashing. Everyone has a brain but few use it for independent thought. Without mind control people would be taking to the streets. Politicians, oil execs, drug makers, etc. would be murdered. Who can say; "I might not agree with what you are saying but I will defend to the death, your right to say it"?
slipped away for some eats and get back to this. I thought too much knowledge was a dangerous thing. so I didn't get overly educated. whether it be cardiac arrest or something else I think when our time is up, it's up. In the meantime I'll try to be the best person to the most people I can be. No, I would not be afriad of any snakes but know people who are just terrified. Even some "tough" guys. Yes, I agee that sharing and bonding is a primary source of well-being. One of my favorite ways of breaking the ice with strangers or easing tense moments is to tell a joke. Particularly when a stranger can overhear it. Laughter is such a happy sound. And nobody know everything. We learn from others. We ALL have the ability to teach someone else what we know.
Hey Jesse, where are you with this fantasies thing? Are fantasies and role playing important to you? How far would you go for her? Or you can side with bobanboban who says "no thanks, I'm not a white guy".
RE: I remember when...
I remember playing with a green, metal petal car that my dad brought home from an auction. It was old then and would be an antique now.
