Oh, I just want to let off steam about the online singles scene today 2nd Jan 2023. I turn 50 soon, and have been on and off dating sites since 2000. Yes, 22 years, part time.
I’ve signed for Match.com. For 3 separate months, having paid a sub, no mails received. I could send 10, eg 1 a day, no reply. On POF, if I send 20 opening mails, eg 1 daily, I am lucky to get one response. Sending One note per 24 hours came in 6 months ago. Things are slow on this Connecting Singles site. The last note I got was from Philippines. Badoo is mainly Russian and Ukrainians. Bumble, paid €39 for a month. I found a lot were US profile, saying they were Galway based.
I rang a dating agency 2 months ago. The cost was €950 for 2 years. I have formerly been on 4 different dating agencies in the past, with no luck.
Anotherfriend.com, where I did meet a few, and have made some good friends. But it is no longer on the airwaves. Similarly Maybefriends.com. I ventured to a pub on New Year’s Eve. Due to Covid, I wasn’t out in a while. Most there were young people in the early 20’s.
Overall, I like many of you, find this stuff drawn out, tiresome, and it is looking like the single life.
Online dating. I am 20 years at it, yes since 2000, on and off. Various sites, Match, POF, Anotherfriend.com, etc. I have met women, but things haven’t worked out. I've been through 4 dating agencies, and about ten different Speed dating events. So, at my age now, it looks like the bachelor single life. Covid & lockdown are not helping. Thanks Jim
Markizam, I would suggest you do some touring around Denmark, and get to the places in Jutland, Zeeland etc that you have never visited. Take a boat trip to Malmo. Do some things that you would not have got time for in the past. And be happy with you being you. Regards, J in Ireland
Hi, I am looking for a date. My last was 6 months ago, and a disaster. I am currently on 4 sites, here, Anotherfriend, POF and Badoo. I would be lucky if I got one reply a month. I first started this online crack in 2000, so I am 18 years at it, and still single. It is an interesting point. Do people give up looking for dates as they get older, and resort to the chatrooms for company? Thank you, 6miler
