I belive that im the only person that makes me what i am today and what i will be in the future... ya your parents can teach you alot about life but when it comes down to it your parents cant be with you as a child for every decision you make.
One example for me was when i was 11 no one had ever talked to me about drugs and about not taking them.. one of my friends offered me a joint and right then and there at that time it was up to me to make a decision on my own that could possibly effect the rest of my life and i said no to him and never spoke to him again and he was one of my best freinds aswell.. O ya today he is in jail so i guess i did good to get away from him... Thats just one example from my life i could easily pick a few more...
What im trying to say is that no matter how much your parents teach you as a child you still have to think for yourself and thats what it comes down too only you can make you the person you are or the person you want to be in the future
