I am reading the book Final Appeal, Anatomy of a Frame by Colin Thatcher. I read another book about the his trial for the murder of his ex-wife and thought I'd like to read what his viewpoint is. Haven't got too far yet, but it may be interesting.
I know what you mean and I don't want to go into my medical history to say why I don't have any. Now I just try to ignore the question and hope they move on to something else, but some people can be persistent.
This was so sad to hear. It is amazing how mean children and adults can be to one another. I breaks my heart to hear stories like this. There is too much of this going on, you would think something could be done about it.
I am also on disability and have been for 4 years. I had to retire from my job because I was told I couldn't go back to work. I have met a guy on a different site and after our initial meeting I told him why I had to be on disability and he has just accepted it. We still see each other at least a couple of times a month. I have also talked to a few men from this site and explained to them and they have just accepted it.
So don't get too bent out of shape about it, and I don't think you should hold back on telling people you are on disability and why. It is your life and you are being truthful. I believe that is the best policy.
Thanks your words have encouraged me to join in more. So what if I say something stupid, I won't the first nor the last. So I will attempt to join in more.
It isn't that I haven't met anyone from either site, but after being with one person for a year and feeling everything was going fine, just not to speak or hear from them! I guess in that respect I've lost faith.
I've been dealing with this all my life and so it is no big deal, all I'd like is someone to have as a friend.
I agree with you. I have been searching for a long time and I'm definitely not looking for the ideal, just someone to talk to and who will listen and spend time with. I am hoping for someone special to me and finds me special. I don't think that is to hard to ask for.
I was on this site before and found no one and then went on another site and then back to this one. I haven't found that person on either site so am contemplating leaving them both. It sure hasn't helped being on these sites.
I'm a 55 year old woman who retired, at 53, because of a disability and I receive disability benefits and also a pension from my old employer. So there are women out there also who are not that much over 50 and have retired.
I agree with you Rose. I am not out to scam anyone. I had someone try to scam me and it is not a great feeling. I left CS for about a year before deciding to give it another try. It goes without saying you are never too old.
RE: What new book are you reading now?
