RE: !he truth How are you going with online Dating.Does it work???

Exactly Goldie!

RE: WTF!!!! Is Going On ???

Yes, the discussion is lacking in substance on both sides.

RE: !he truth How are you going with online Dating.Does it work???

Surely not! You seem very sweet and genuine.

RE: WTF!!!! Is Going On ???

What is very interesting to me about these posts on religion is that everyone comes to the discussion with a conclusion.

Granted, it is easier, but it is not sounder from an analytical point of view.

RE: !he truth How are you going with online Dating.Does it work???

Martia, I liked the sincerity of your post. If I were in your part of the world, I would ask you for a date in a minute.

Regarding internet dating, I think you're right; this medium can easily accommodate tall tales.

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

GP, forgive me for being slow on this thread. I have never used chat facilities because I believed they were structurally flawed. I leave that subject for another thread!

But what I have learned through this chat facility is that one can have fun and make friends. (It must be said that I did laugh again.)

I know it must seem corny, but almost every one of your comments breaks me into a loud laugh. Maybe this is the main point, or at least an important aspect of creating these thread discussions.

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

I messed up the quote facility. Consequently, the first paragraph that should have been in a quote box for your comment appears to be my first paragraph. Sorry.

You know I must clarify. After writing for law review, every little mistake must be retracted or explained.

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

You're very welcome. Someone else told me I should change my screen name to sweetchick as well. I'm glad that you consider me to be your friend. We can never ever have too many of them.

The previous recommendations are right. When your character becomes clear, you are not a wallflower, or somechick, you are sweet and special. So the title should become sweetchick or specialchick.

It is not meant as a pickup line; it is sincere.

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

More belly laughs, truly! GP we just need to get you into some kind of public dialogue. You'll make a fortune. :~)

And can I just add one comment (because it seems ironically important in this particular thread), lawyer - not Lawyer.

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

Thank you sweetie (hereby recommend changing the handle from somechick to sweetchick). I have 2 friends here for sure - you, and GP.

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

Good man GP. You're the man!

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

Good to see you! You are definitely a caring and conscientious lady. I am grateful you answered because it looked to me like I ended another thread.

On the one hand it is sad to me that everyone bails out when challenged, which makes me think I should be more sociable and less intellectually confrontational. However, when this kind of question is posed, everyone involved should be ready for the highest kind of analytical discussion. If not, the subject should not even be raised.

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

GP, buddy, how have you been these days?

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

No, you mentioned god - not the same idea as God.

RE: the meaning of life for you is?

I am amazed that no one so far has mentioned God, meaning the Creator of life itself.

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

It would be my pleasure. I have another Slovenian friend who I met on the train to Vienna. I must come to visit both of you.

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

Of course, I have been through Ljubljana. And I am a permanent resident of Slovakia (my son was born in Slovakia).

I have lived in Slovakia for many years, and consequently, I am familiar with eastern European (especially Slavic) culture.

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

No, I do not mean to say that being more European is more elitist - quite the opposite.

I have found (western) European political and ethical culture to be more engaging in the areas of sociability & culture, and with respect to the value of citizenship. However, the former communist states are still developing in these areas - with much more progress yet to achieve.

Anyway, thanks for starting a vigorous and open commentary. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Jeff

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

You are welcome anytime. I look forward to showing you around.

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

Yes, I am American by nationality, but now European in many ways. I have been living in Europe for most of the past 7 years and have become more socialised & politicised toward the European way of thinking (and hopefully) acting.

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

My pleasure GP. I would be happy to help you in any way I can.

At the moment I am in Slovakia. I was travelling back and forth from the UK to Slovakia, but now residing in Slovakia.

I am American. And my legal education is American. So if you need advice, just let me know (no charge of course).

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

Take care today. It was nice reading your posts!

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

One more belly laugh!!!! Truthfully! You're going to have to get over here to Europe so we can have some more laughs (and you may even meet a nice lady friend).

In the meantime, I'll be looking for you in these threads.

Cheers

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

GP, we'll have more discussions I am sure. I enjoyed your glib? humour. I think glib is the right word.

Anyway, the conversation was great. Speak to you soon.

Jeff

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

Thank you. I was really trying to be nice to everyone.

I think maybe this thread was based on heat and turmoil. When I came in and tried to change the debate, all of the potential for venting rancor dissipated.

Maybe that destroyed the very nature of this thread.dunno

I am new to these threads. But I did have fun tonight (it is nighttime in Europe).

All the best,
Jeff

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

Thank you! I am somewhat encouraged. Maybe the noticeable departure was due to the announcement of a lawyer coming into the room.

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

Oh, another belly laugh! We'll have to try again next time.

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

Definitely GP! Thanks mate.

One thing I noticed on this last page though - the women seem to be gone.

Maybe my greatest aspirations have been snuffed out in their very infancy!

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

Tks for the vote of confidence petalbabe. I have always avoided family law because it is so adversarial and emotionally perilous.

I really, truly wish that men and women could get along better.

RE: A small advice for women :) To help you NOT TO COMPLICATE

Yes, true. I could develop an effective argument for each side.

But sometimes framing the debate not in terms of adversarial positions, but in terms of reconciliation is more advantageous.

In this thread, I decided not to take a position for either side, but to enunciate virtues I believe would promote reconciliation. Arguably a more conciliatory approach would lead to a more desirable outcome.

Men and women need each other. It is a basic reality.
