GP, forgive me for being slow on this thread. I have never used chat facilities because I believed they were structurally flawed. I leave that subject for another thread!
But what I have learned through this chat facility is that one can have fun and make friends. (It must be said that I did laugh again.)
I know it must seem corny, but almost every one of your comments breaks me into a loud laugh. Maybe this is the main point, or at least an important aspect of creating these thread discussions.
I messed up the quote facility. Consequently, the first paragraph that should have been in a quote box for your comment appears to be my first paragraph. Sorry.
You know I must clarify. After writing for law review, every little mistake must be retracted or explained.
You're very welcome. Someone else told me I should change my screen name to sweetchick as well. I'm glad that you consider me to be your friend. We can never ever have too many of them.
The previous recommendations are right. When your character becomes clear, you are not a wallflower, or somechick, you are sweet and special. So the title should become sweetchick or specialchick.
Good to see you! You are definitely a caring and conscientious lady. I am grateful you answered because it looked to me like I ended another thread.
On the one hand it is sad to me that everyone bails out when challenged, which makes me think I should be more sociable and less intellectually confrontational. However, when this kind of question is posed, everyone involved should be ready for the highest kind of analytical discussion. If not, the subject should not even be raised.
No, I do not mean to say that being more European is more elitist - quite the opposite.
I have found (western) European political and ethical culture to be more engaging in the areas of sociability & culture, and with respect to the value of citizenship. However, the former communist states are still developing in these areas - with much more progress yet to achieve.
Anyway, thanks for starting a vigorous and open commentary. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Yes, I am American by nationality, but now European in many ways. I have been living in Europe for most of the past 7 years and have become more socialised & politicised toward the European way of thinking (and hopefully) acting.
One more belly laugh!!!! Truthfully! You're going to have to get over here to Europe so we can have some more laughs (and you may even meet a nice lady friend).
In the meantime, I'll be looking for you in these threads.
Thank you. I was really trying to be nice to everyone.
I think maybe this thread was based on heat and turmoil. When I came in and tried to change the debate, all of the potential for venting rancor dissipated.
Maybe that destroyed the very nature of this thread.
I am new to these threads. But I did have fun tonight (it is nighttime in Europe).
Yes, true. I could develop an effective argument for each side.
But sometimes framing the debate not in terms of adversarial positions, but in terms of reconciliation is more advantageous.
In this thread, I decided not to take a position for either side, but to enunciate virtues I believe would promote reconciliation. Arguably a more conciliatory approach would lead to a more desirable outcome.
Men and women need each other. It is a basic reality.
RE: !he truth How are you going with online Dating.Does it work???
