Hi I personally wanted to stay home with my kids, thats why i wanted chilren to be with them and there for them, it is what i had growing up with my parents. Unfortunatly circumstances changed and i had to go to work. I think the choice of creche is crucial to not only your children but also to your own peace of mind, i was lucky i found a really good one, felt like home and the people running it were excellent. I was still not happy though, even now i sort of regret that missed time while they were young, have fixed that now though, retrained as a teacher, so now i work the same hours that they do and have the same holidays, works out really well, i can drop them off and pick them up and the manangement at the school i teach at is very understanding and flexible with all their staff.
Have been reading this forum and while not on the recent thread topic but as a kiwi girl Hi Dan, you say you are in NZ for a year , I hope you plan to travel alot, christchurch is a beautiful place but so is the rest of NZ. I am sure you will meet lots of lovely kiwi woman and also lots of woman living here that are not kiwis, just keep an open mind and like in all places away from home take care and have fun. from one odd kiwi girl who has decided to pop in and have her say and a laugh
