Well I know that to say all Dutch people are a certain way is painting with a broad brush and is a gross generalization. So i need to apologize. However, I am a pretty social and friendly person, and i can honestly say that I have not had even remotely close to what could be considered a meaningful conversation with anyone Dutch (let alone a Dutch girl). Hahaha!
Its the strangest phenomenon: Dutch people are ridiculously friendly with simple trivial interaction, but then it stops there.
One month in, and I have yet to meet any new people other than colleagues.
Strangely, I have never met such distant, disinterested, hard to talk to people in my entire life. The Dutch make people from London and New York seem warm and fuzzy.
If i sound a bit bitter, that's because i am. haha!
But it sure would be nice to at least be able to get to know someone who is native to this country. :(
