Your analogy may be true for certain people on certain medications but not for all please know that this statement is not 100% fact for all people. There are various forms of Bi Polar. Everyone has their own special "cocktail" so to speak that works and sometimes it takes many tries to get it right. What you have stated may have been true of the person you dated or people you've worked with, but again, not all people are affected the same way.
I am also bi polar and no, its not always a cake walk and I'm far from crazy. People I have dated in the past would attest to that one for ya! I am still friends with some of them. High Functioning Bi polar people are all over the place. I've held Executive and Management Positions for years. I'm so glad though that Bi Polar awareness has come so far in the past few years.

How sad that I have to post on this comment but I feel I need to. Bi-Polar can be linked to Genetics. There are differenty types of Bi-Polar and not everyone that has bi-polar has the same reactions or cycles to their condition. They suffer for so long and it takes years to diagnose correctly. Yes it can be difficult to live with someone who has Bi-Polar, yes it is also difficult sometimes as well because they go off their meds (example: in time they feel they dont need them because they are doing so good on them and dont realize that its the meds that are helping them). There are many high functioning people in this world who have bi-polar. Crazy isnt contagious. I'm sorry but you're wrong.
After giving myself time to heal from events of my past, I decided what the heck, lets give this dating thing a try again. It has taken a lot of courage for me too as I hate putting myself out there for the world to see.
Just looking to make some new friends to start and maybe something more as time and frienships develop. Go slow I say.
