Well commented rumple4skin and yes I agree with the train, and a nanny state isn't what I wanted. I was making the comment to outline that they would ban smoking if it wasn't for the lobby groups and their money. My very good friend and I debated, he believes that all drugs should be legal because it is up to a person to control his/her freedom, my argument is do you want people to be walking on the street high on ICE, some drugs are psychotic and have a need to be controlled. You seem like a very smart person and I am sure you would make the right choice in regards to your own self and self-preservation, unfortunate many others do not have the "common sense" that we may have and they need to be protected for them selfs. Just look at the turkeys on a Saturday night in your own and everybody's town, are you not glad that they can not drive totally wasted after drinking all night or is that being a nanny state. I think drink driving rules protect them and me and isn't that what we support a government for... to protect you and me not line a minister / senators or a party's pockets with corporate dollars

My concern is how is the government going to look after the interests of it's people while it lines it's coffers with corporate dollars. One of the best examples is smoking ( I smoke ) it should of never been made available to myself and others.. We sell a dangourous product to 16 - 18 year olds who are no developed to make a sound choice. This producted should of been removed 50 years ago but with millions of dollars at stake it never will be. Here in Australia we had a Prime Minister who was removed from his party over night because he wanted a " super tax" for our huge mining companies once profits hit 1 billion. Four mining exs told the party that if he wasn't removed they would stop funding to there party. The next day he was removed, so 22 million voted yes whilst 4 voted him out..... NOT FAIR or just.
Yes you are right Mr Conrad.... Unions are just as evil. I may be to stupid to see, but with this small change all of our countries world wide could be close to perfect.
Question..... I was wondering how we can have a fair political system around the world if parties that are elected by the people only work for companies that provide money to back the party... would it be best to have political parties backed by tax payers money so they work for the people or is it okay for large donations from tobacco mining companies to back politics so the policies assist with these companies agenda? Isn't this just corruption?
