Chucks mind went back at that moment to a time in his past he always hoped he would forget forever....
1983, New York City. His parents had brought him to NY while his dad was conducting some business. His dad was in meetings all day so Chuck and Mom decided to see some of NYC. They were riding the ferry to the statue of liberty when 2 thugs decided that Chucks mom was a fun play toy for them. The one punk held Chuck while the other was teasing Chucks mom. No one on the ferry helped, they just sat there and watched. It was a scary situation to be watching your mom being attacked.
Chucks mom suddenly seemed to have enough and kicked the man holding her against the boats raling. As he went down to grab the leg she kicked in pain the other punk let go of Chuck to come help his friend. Chucks mom yelled... "run Chuck run" and he did. The thug holding Chuck saw this and swung to grab Chuck, but the swing did not grab Chuck... It knocked him off the boat all together. The water was so cold as this was Febuary and this made it real hard to stay afloat. Finally someone in the crowd decided to help, a man jumped into the water to save Chuck. The boat still floating further and further away.
He was realy baffled as to why she was sorry, not knowing this was her ex BF Bob. Chuck and Jean had this wonderful connection so far and through that connection he senced something was wrong and she was very worried. VERY WORRIED.
When they reached the bottom of the staircase, the mystery voice to Chuck threw him against the wall and using the barrel of his gun rammed his kidneys 2 times. Chuck fell hard to the floor. At this time 3 other men entered the building wearing masks, walked down the hall with 2 of them pulling Bob in a room to the left with force.
Not being able to hear what was said in the room everyone could tell that there was a arguement going on none the less. The 2 new men were not happy with Bob at all.
Chuck leaned to jean and said, "dont worry we will get out of here together and fine". Jean smiled but nervously. Then last gunman leaned down slowly and said to both of them.. " I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT"
Just then there bus grinds to a halt... traffic is stopped dead (No pun intended) something is going on outside, but what? Large crowds, flashing lights but they are content on this bus just getting to know eachother. As she takes some time to tell him about her life so far, lack of adventure, lack of spice he notices the bus has not moved in 20 minutes yet they are maybe 2 blocks from the bar they are attempting to get to.
he returns the earlier favor and grabs her hand and says, follow me. Leaving the bus he takes 5th ave and says we can cut around and walk there. As they look back they see police everywhere, searching everywhere for something... someone?
1 block later he feels the cold feel of metal against his neck from behind and a voice say.. "do what i say and you wont get hurt, turn right and take these steps up the stairs". She wanted adventure, looks like she has it.
She can sence the pending arrival of her sister, her bones know its time to make a decision. Feeling risky she looks at her coffee companion and grabs his hand saying "follow me" they leave, not even leaving money on the table for thier drinks. Thye dart out the front door as the waitress yells, "Hey Stop".
Normally she would never leave her sister hanging high and dry like this, but how often do you find a connection like this?
She has her car here but for some reason as she notices a city bus coming down the street she decides they need to hop on the bus, thus starting a night of adventure in the city.
They conversed for a short time talking about likes and dislike, family. Just general stuff. But the question of marital status never seemed to come up.
Suddenly she looked nervous, no.. more anxious. Her movements seemed different, body language had changed from friendly to squirmy. She kept glancing toward the far corner. he thought to himself that something was surely wrong, but what?
It was the beginning of a whole new life for him... New possibilities... New adventures... Hopefully a new SOMEONE.
He was a clean dressed man. Always had great manners. Always stayed in shape but never had the nerve to approach someone he found attractive, so. what was different starting today?

There is a player in the NHL named Dan Heatly who killed his teamamte and friend Dan Snyder in his car driving wrecklessly.. and slightly drunk if i remember well.

sorry, you may not like this opinion but...french or no french he is the dad and desreves to see his kids as much as mom does.
now, if the homework issue is a concern later he will have to pay for a tutor to come in a few times a week to help with the homework issue.
