Upon Sheathing my Sword

“Give me your eye,” she said
She moved close and laughed
Like little girls do
Fingers and lips, various body parts meshed
“Forever, she said
Trust me”

Having only one left
(the last which much sharper than this)
I exclaimed, “quick, look over there”
And when her head turned
I ran like hell

Exposure

I saw her naked

Our clothes had been off for hours

That’s not what I mean

She was riding on top of me

Her long brown hair curtain hanging

Suddenly, in her eyes, an intensity

The corners of her mouth tightened

A muscle twitch in her jaw

Clenched teeth

Her arms went up

Like to pull her own hair

Then her right fist crashed into my chest

She screamed and a left

A right and a left

Those tiny hands slamming into my ribs

All of her anger

Every bit of hurt

All the disappointments of her life

Broken loose in that moment of contrast

She ground her hips into my groin

She swung violently at my torso

All of her force

All of her strength

Her every intention

Machine gun fire pouring out of her

Rapid fire into my chest

She stopped as suddenly as she began

She stared at me not even breathing

Then she fell into me

Her face buried in my neck

She sobbed uncontrollably

Completely and totally

Naked
