Ok, I have done a little checking and there are a few hotels that are very reasonable especially without the option of breakfast (which most of you will miss anyway cos of hangovers, right?).
The Cork Travel Lodge is very cheap per person sharing, room only. Alpharooms are quoting 37.24 per person for August. Its a little bit out of town but a short taxi ride. The next is the Clarion which is very, very central and Alpharooms are quoting them at 41.25 per person, room only as well.
Jurys is 53.43 per person b&b, the Metropole is 54.50 but it doesnt say if that includes breakfast.
All rates are quoted from Alpharooms right at this minute.
I will check other websites later.

booking.com have a number of guesthouses quoting from 49 euros to 68 euros with and without breakfast.
The Metropole is quoting 75.00 per room for double room and Isaacs (which is across the road from the Metropole) is 75.00 per room not including breakfast but there is a good old fashioned greasy spoon practically next door to it (The Uptown Grill) which serves breakfasts at reasonable rates, or lunch if you sleep in
Could still recommend Travel Lodge if a few people can book together. They have a family room which sleeps 4 people and the room is 79.00, one double bed, one sofa bed and one pull out bed. You might be a bit short of space there but good for a tight budget.
There is an Eddie Rockets attached to it where you can get breakfast/lunch. If a group books together ye could get a taxi bus to cut down the expense of travelling into town (which is only about 10 mins by taxi)I'll be there without a doubt.
