Marvellous stuff...

Been many years since ive heard this kind of music...
Thanks for some great tunes with a difference...
Its a pleasure hearing reggae other than Bob Marley, however good he was...
While its not reggae, would you have any Issac Hayes to recommend?

Thanks in anticipation...Lard...

...Hi Lardy...Was'nt Issac Hayes..the original "Shaft"?...Didnt he also do that number..."If Lovin you is Wrong..I Dont Want to be Right?"...and "Guilty of Lovin you?"..(or was it)..."I've Been Lovin' You Too Long"...Some of these are his....I'll need to have a look now....What do you think of James Brown...."Papa's Got A Brand New Bag"...lol..lol..."Ants In My Pants,I Need To Dance".......Love James Brown..Its his energy...What Motown Groups do you favour...I like Temptations /Four Tops/Marvin Gaye...though dont like his live tracks...too much background.Try the Reggae number Silver Words Ken Boothe...that is a beautiful song....Idont mind Bob Marley, but not into all his stuff...Prefer groups like Toots and the Maytalls,or Clancy Eccles,Ken Parker.....Have you heard of a group called...Matumbi?? ...
...Maybe you can help me Lard...Years ago I had this reggae record...cant remember the"A" side.....but the "B2 side it was called...."I'll Be Waiting(for that train to come in).....I CANT access it anywhere....Help???..Now I think it was a version by Ken Boothe...Hey!I've run out of space!!!!!

Hi fbf...

Shaft, indeed what a song, was it off "hot buttered soul"...
Really, Im beyond ignorant when it comes to the music you obviously know so well...
All the tracks your putting up are for me great memory "joggers", Desmond Dekker, Johnny Nash, the aforementioned Issac Hayes...All were part of my musical youth before i found my musical "groove" so to speak...
As it happens, I've just put up a poll about Music choice a few minutes ago, perhaps you would care to share with us all your choice!...
Now, about your song enquirey ,Try "wikimusic", its a good jump point for any music searches, although I've found hundreds of wierd and obscure tracks / albums on "Isohunt" and obviously the wonderfull YouTube...
Re James Brown, see my comments on jeauno's post of "night train"...James was without question my Fave soul artist of all time...and his later funk fusion work with Dan Heartman of the Eagles was peerless and priceless in its genre...
Good luck to you in your searches and keep up with the great music input, ill be listening....

Regards Lau... handshake

..Glad your listening in...What did you think of the Lonnie Donegan selection??...The first "reecord " I ever bought was Battle of New Orleans.I shall certainly join your poll...Will talk music 24/7...Will check out the obscure tracks finder....Though it's a tough one...Thanks again for your input...Your a pal.....handshake Ana..
