In 1995, along with Gino Marcelli and Valerio Artusi, Raffaella Destefano founded the group Madreblu. They recorded their first album at the end of'97 entitled "Before dawn" . In the same year,Madreblu participate in the San Remo Giovani festival with the song " Gli Angels", This piece did not open many doors for them following the festival, but the following year became a chart hit nationally for the group, earning them a prize at the San Marino Titan, as the track with most air play. After numerous concerts, the group released their second album "Need" (in'98 Valerio Artusi left the band) This second disc contained the singles "Reiko" and "not enough", following the sucess of this album they later appeared on the soundtrack of the second series of "Sopranos" with the song "Certamente."

The two discs were then distributed in Germany, France and Holland by Staccato Records. In 2003 they release their third album, "Balance" but in September 2004 Raffaella decides to leave the group to devote herself to her solo career: a decidedly more pop veined rock new wave.

She went about setting up a new band consentrating heavily on guitar and bass drums. They participated in various festivals such as Flippaut in 2006 all'Idroscalo Milan. The same year she opened for Paul Weller, Negrita, Eugenio Finardi and Scissor Sisters. At the end of 2007, she released her version of "Tomorrow", produced by Fred Ventura and Paul Gozzetti, giving her chart success on local and national radio and on the Italian music scene. Currently she's in the studio recording her new album, Raffaella Destefano out later this month. Her first solo work.
