Ipê-amarelo trees

according to the video, that tree is considered symbol of Brazil. I didn´t know that.

But I know that it´s one of the most protected trees here and of course, it´s a wonderful tree that people tend to turn their heads just to contemplate its beauty.

You've got one in my fave colour....On the link....the leaf resembles what we call here Rhodedendrun....but the flower heads on this tree are resembling a shrub called Hydrangea...Very Beautiful....Now you have made my day!!!

Rhodedendrun are known here as Azaléias and Hydrangea as Hortênsias. Beautiful flowers.

here in Teresina we have a huge Ipê-amarelo that blossoms by late Nov-Dec and it´s funny to see the people turning their heads and commenting how beautiful that tree is. The avenue almost stops just to see that tree.

I´ll try to remember to take some pics of the huge Ipê and post on the puzzles. But we´ll have to wait until Nov-Dec.

forgot to tell you that we have Ipês in other colors such as white, pink and purple(looks like Jacarandas)
