Marty Robbins sings "Drowsy Waters" (Wailana)

Not a whole bunch of people are aware of Marty's falsetto abilities. He's known mostly for "A White Sport Coat" and western ballads. This song always brings tears to my eyes. Can't ya just picture you and that special one curled up by the fire place or, better yet, on the white sands of Hawaii?

Story goes that Marty, when in the military, was stationed in Hawaii. That must've been hard to take! Anywho, he made some friends with some island performers. Apparently, back in those days, women were not welcomed to sing along with the guys, and so the men taught themselves how to "replace" the female vocals. Can't you just picture hairy legs in a grass skirt? Yuck!
