Triakel - Ifjol gjett je gjeita

Another example of nice Swedish folk music. This time more traditional, unplugged, and performed by the group Triakel.

The title of the song translates to something like 'Last year I had to watch critters'. The language here is a Swedish dialect, that is more related to Norwegian. Even though many words are similar in my own native dialect, there might be some error in translation.

The song is about a young girl who was having fun with the guys and ended up getting pregnant. A not unusual theme in folk song lyrics from older times. I suppose such songs served to warn the young ladies not to let the guys have their way with them before marriage...
