Arranged Show on FYI

Was astonished that I found this wonderful show on On Demand last month. It was so interesting watching all ten episodes of this unique show. Season one of Arranged introduced us to three couples from various religions who follow the tradition of arranged marriages.

Couple one was Christian and Maria who were 18 and 17 year old Romany/Gypsy teenagers. They were a unique couple that in the beginning argued many times and it seemed like Christian spent more time playing video games than spending time with his wife. They were the only couple who lived with the extended family because they lived with Christian’s family. Surprisingly Christian and Maria were the couple who won the newly arranged game that was played in the reunion episode when all three couples got together for dinner.

The second couple was Josh and Meghan who were 28 and 24 year old Caucasian Southern Baptists. Josh’s mother was very interesting because she was always criticizing Meghan. One example of this was saying on the wedding day that Meghan loved to eat. Because Josh was a momma’s boy he never stood up for his wife and that was one thing that I wish he could have done better.

Couple number 3 was Veeral and Ragini who were 34 and 33 Indian Hindus. Ragini was confident but Veeral usually didn’t listen to her like for example after the Sangeet he stays up the whole night partying and dancing. He ends up waking up late and he has to write his vows on his cell phone whereas Ragini had written her vows earlier and had at least slept some the night before her wedding. Veeral freestyles his vows but they prove to be written amazingly well and he pulls it off. Ragini’s vows were very emotional especially her last line when she said that she would love to have him as her husband in every future lifetime of hers.

Baahubali: The Beginning

Still speechless after watching the Telugu version of Baahubali. It was so amazing. I had a great time. Proud to be a Telugu. Finally people can see the amazing ness that is Telugu movies. There was a lot of violence but the story was unique, epic, and the songs were amazing.

Loved the part when Prabhas (Baahubali) picked up the Shiva Lingam and carried it all the way to the Ganga River. Couldn’t stop laughing when Shivudu was painting Avanthika’s hand when she was asleep by the river and then she plans her ambush only to be surprised when she couldn’t find Shivudu because he tricked her when she was up on the tree. So hilarious when Shivudu has the snake distract her so he could paint her shoulder. Loved the Shivudu and Avanthika relationship.

Another funny part was when Baahubali and Bhallaladeva go to various kingdoms trying to find the spies. I loved the part when they go to that place and one of them asks for the alcohol but everytime he gets a drink he throws it away and says he needs a bigger one and then he asks for drinks for all the other guys while his brother hunts down the traitorous spy.

I could tell that the director Rajamouli Garu was heavily influenced by Mahabharat for many reasons. The whole theme of good over evil, Politics or Rajneeti, a baby being floated down the river, fights over who has the right to be the next ruler of the kingdom, a prince knowing when to protect its people and when to kill enemies, the older brother being deemed unfit to rule because of infirmity and then wanting his son to be the king even though his son was against dharma, the true ruler dying early and making a regency for the kingdom until the heirs grew up, one person fighting for the kingdom even though he knows that the king is against Kshatriya dharma, one person fighting the caste system, a baby having two mothers: the mother that gave birth to him and the one who raised him, a women being chained for years, and last but not least the fact that someone wants to ruin the enemies for the attacks on the honor of a stri. In the case of Mahabharat, the stri was the wife of the Pandavas Draupadi but in Baahubali she was the mother/adopted mother of Baahubali and Bhalleladeva. Hats off to the cast and crew of such an amazing movie. Jai Mahismathi!

A song from «Mannequin on the move»

«Mannequin on the move»and «True Lies»are several movies of my favorite love in my school time even if they are not popular now. Finally i found out the song from «Mannequin on the move»--«I can't believe my eyes»from russell hitchcock. It is soulful, romantic and impressive even if after many years later.
Especially the heroine was so beautiful.I like her hair is like clouds and sweet smile.Although now fashion vogue is making progress every day,but i still think that nature is the most beautiful.Real beautiful is from inner temperament!

Text of «I can't believe my eyes»from russell hitchcock:
I've dance alone a thousand times
To songs that no one else could even hear
I've reached into the flame of love
I couldn't hold it
And it disappeared
I've lived to learn to hate the blues
I've lived with ev'rything but you
I can't believe my eyes
I see you here
Lookin' just the way you should
Ooh
So good, it's too good to be true
I lived my life
To be lyin' here with you
ooh
I can't believe my eyes
I've felt the empty hands of time
As they were stealin' all my life away
I've heard the silence here inside
Waiting for words that lovers
Could not say
You turn a little into stone
With ev'ry night you spend alone
I can't believe my eyes
I see you here
Lookin' just the way you should
Ooh
So good, it's too good to be true
I lived my life
To be lyin' here with you
Ooh
Still, when I see you lyin' here
I can't believe my eyes.sad flower bouquet

Imperial Dreams Review

Just finished watching a surreal film called Imperial Dreams.
It reflects the plight of our people/Israelites in this land of captivity while trying to rise above our circumstances, especially as Brothers wanting to raise our families. There is nothing worse than dealing with a wicked system built with the intent of racism and supremacy towards people of color, just to have our own brothers and sisters of color volunteer their souls in the hands of this supremacist system by working for it against their own people.I watched a sister working as a social worker and police officers of color take away a father's child ,because he is living out of his car due to his only family wanting him to re-enter the gang and drug world in which the father manages to resist the entire film. The sister police officer tells the father it's not good to have his son sleep in the car in a crime ridden neighborhood, but doesn't offer the young father any alternatives or help. The local church is worthless in offering shelter or honest employment and the social worker would rather take away his son instead of using her influence in the system to find this father and son decent shelter and employment to take care of his family.
Yet, she can gladly take away his custody of the child, thereby reinforcing the mindset and the doctrine of Willie Lynch upon her people. This film speaks volumes of how we are clueless and asleep to our cultural curses and always kissing the butt of our oppressors in spite of destroying our own people.
The only way to break these curses and mindsets is by returning to the covenant of our forefathers in the scriptures. We are in a sad state of affairs as a nation (so call blacks,Hispanics, native Americans)
